MOULTRIE — A Moultrie woman allegedly tried to hit another woman with a minivan during an altercation Saturday night. It was not clear whether she succeeded or not. The woman hit another vehicle as she tried to drive away and was charged in connection to that accident.

Anastasia Studstill, 17, of 901 Third St. N.W., was charged with failure to maintain lane, failure to stop at an accident with damage and a license permit violation.

Studstill reported she was at a park on Third Street Northwest about 10 p.m. Saturday and was attacked by several females. One of those females, Funtae Steele, tried to hit her with a plant stand, Studstill told police, and Studstill had several injuries from the attack.

Studstill told a Moultrie police officer she got into a Plymouth Voyager and tried to hit Steele with it but missed and tried to leave the park. In her attempt to flee, however, she hit a Buick Lesabre, owned by Forestine Walker, in the rear passenger side. Damage to both vehicles and the plant stand was about $525.

The officer spoke with Steele about the incident at Colquitt Regional Medical Center, where she was being treated for an injured left knee and ankle. She said she received the injuries when she was hit by Studstill’s van. She also admitted using the plant stand as a weapon, but she said it was only to get away from Studstill.

A CRMC spokesperson said Steele was treated and released from the hospital.
