Tharpe S. Strickland Jr.
DOERUN — Tharpe S. Strickland Jr., 73, of Doerun, died Thursday, July 13, 2006, at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Monday, July 17, at Harrell-Faircloth Funeral Home with the Rev. Joey Cannon officiating assisted by the Rev. David Benton. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memory Gardens with Donnie Ivey, Jon Buckner, Bo Buckner, Brad Wheeler, Jimmy Clayton and Ben Clayton serving as pallbearers.
Born July 19, 1932, in Colquitt County, he was the son of the late Tharpe S. Strickland Sr. and the late Stella Smith Strickland. He was a mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Plymel Strickland, and a brother, Nevin Strickland.
Survivors include three sons, T. Stephen Strickland III and wife Geraldine of Funston, Oliver Strickland and wife Dawn of Doerun and Elijah Beau Strickland and wife Kiley of Hartsfield; two daughters, Hope Strickland and special friend Dale Allen of Moultrie and Georgia Coppage and special friend Gene Dupree of Moultrie; two brothers, Ervin Strickland of Doerun and Gary Strickland and wife Vicki of Funston; two sisters, June Ivey of Bridgeboro, Ga., and Mary Buckner and husband Randy of Moultrie; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Savannah Merissa Linsley
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Savannah Merissa Linsley, 6-1/2 months, died Thursday, July 13, 2006, at Shands Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Sunday, July 16, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dion Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Buck Creek Cemetery with Frank Joseph Rodela and Dennis Shelton Jr. serving as pallbearers.
Born Dec. 25, 2005, in Duval County, Fla., she was the daughter of Angela Nichole Shelton Linsley and James Neil Linsley of Jacksonville, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her twin, Jamie Clarissa Linsley, and her great-grandparents, Wilford and Marie Slaughter and Brenda Carline Linsley.
Survivors include a brother, Anthony Tyler White of Meigs; a sister, Haylie Brenda Marie Linsley of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandparents, Beverly Rickman Linsley and friend Don Ewing of Jacksonville, Fla., Michael Linsley and wife Kimberly of Jacksonville, Fla., Dwight May and Irene of Norman Park and Dennis Shelton Sr. and wife Cindy of Moultrie; great-grandparents, James K. Linsley of Ochlocknee, Glenn Williams and wife Lynne of Marion, Ind., and Charles Rickman of Asheville, N.C.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be tonight, July 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

MOULTRIE — Marion Childs, 88, of Moultrie died Friday, July 14, 2006, at his residence.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 16, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery.

DONALSONVILLE, Ga. — Shela Leal, 19, died Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, July 15, at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church in Donalsonville with burial at Galilee Cemetery.
