Larkin Mason Fowler Jr.
MOULTRIE — Larkin Mason Fowler Jr., 62, of Ga. Highway 111 in Moultrie, died Tuesday, July 4, 2006, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Graveside rites will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 6, 2006, at Westview Cemetery with the Rev. Hugh Ward officiating. Pallbearers will be Dr. D.W. Adcock, Judge Harry J. Aultman II, Lewis Brown, Michael McLean, Dr. John Newton, Dickie Traylor and James Whelchel. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Southern Judicial Circuit Bar Association.
Mr. Fowler was born July 22, 1943, in Fulton County to the late Mary Ezzard Fowler and the late Larkin Mason Fowler.
Mr. Fowler graduated from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Va. He received his law degree from Emory University in Atlanta and moved to Thomasville to practice law in 1969. He practiced law in Moultrie since opening his office in 1972.
In 1970, Mr. Fowler was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia, where he served on the Board of Governors from 1979-81. He was a member of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association. He was a member of the Moultrie and Southern Circuit bar associations, serving as president from 1973 to 1974.
He also received the American Jurisprudence Award.
Survivors include his wife, Priscilla Nevels Fowler of Moultrie; his son, Larkin Mason Fowler III and wife Julie of New York, N.Y.; two daughters, Melissa Fowler Rogers and husband Steve of Marietta and Marsha Gay Stone and husband Jonathan of Asheville, N.C.; his sister, Mary Jo Hege and husband David of New Orleans, La.; and eight grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
