And local golfers have played well in all four of the Southwest Section’s events so far this year.
On Monday at Glen Arven, Spencer Cokely shot a 40 to win the boy 11-and-under age group by three shots over Jake Lastinger.
Andrew Eunice tied for fifth with a 48.

Eunice shot a 49 and was three shots behind Lindsey McCurdy.
The young golfers are trying to get sufficient points to qualify for the Junior Sectional Challenge Match.
The 33rd Annual Junior Sectional Challenge Match will be played July 24-25 at Fields Ferry Golf Club in Calhoun. The top four boys will qualify from each age group in each section as will the top two girls in each section.
Qualification will be based on total points earned from section events.

Elrod finished third in the boys 16-17 age group last year, helping the Southwest Section win the Challenge Match by one point over the Southeast Section.
