Eunice Johnson Miles
PAVO — Eunice Johnson Miles, 94, of Pavo died Wednesday, June 28, 2006, at Portsbridge Hospice in Atlanta with her daughters by her bedside.
She was recently hospitalized in Thomasville, Ga., as a result of her lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 1, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Larry Harris officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery. Wayne Clements, Ricky Butts, Jason Clements, Mark Clements, Derrick Butts, Clifton O’Doniel and Clayton O’Doniel will serve as casketbearers.
Born Oct. 1, 1911, in Dublin, Mrs. Miles was the daughter of the late America Dennison Johnson and the late Washington Johnson. She was a retired sectionizer from Kraft Foods and was of the Pentecostal faith. She had been a resident of Pavo for 15 years and had been living with her caregivers, her daughter, Edna Miles Clements and Bill Clements.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Miles; three sons, Jimmy Miles, Kenneth Miles and Jack Miles; three brothers, Olan Johnson, Edgar Johnson and Eskel Johnson; and a sister, Naddie Roberts.
Survivors include a son, Frank Miles of Montgomery, Ala.; three daughters, Edna Miles Clements and husband William of Pavo and Hazel Clark and husband Charles and Emolou “Dianne” Pike and husband Bob, all of Atlanta; a 104-year-old sister, Pearl Metts of Pavo; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Pearlie Mae Suggs Tanner
MOULTRIE — Pearlie Mae Suggs Tanner, 86, of Moultrie died Wednesday, June 28, 2006, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 1, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Donnie Sloan and the Rev. Roy Hicks officiating. Interment will follow at Bridge Creek Cemetery. Don McCardle, Shawn McCardle, David Hester, Duain Lasseter, Josh Hamilton, Hank Flowers, Joe Hodge and Charlie Hamilton will serve as casketbearers.
Born Dec. 7, 1919, in Colquitt County, Mrs. Tanner was the daughter of the late Mary Magdalene Tucker Suggs and John Patton Suggs. She was a retired weaver at Moultrie Textile and was a member of Emerald Hill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry B. Tanner.
Survivors include a son, Johnny Paul Selph Sr. of Moultrie; five daughters, Janis French and husband Don of Quincy, Fla., Merle Hester and husband John of Norman Park, Jackie Gandy and husband Cecil of Hartsfield and Jolene Hamilton and Sheila Tanner and fiancee Ronald Ray, all of Moultrie; 16 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.

June J. Causey
LAKE CITY, Fla. — June J. Causey, 56, a life-long resident of Lake City, died Wednesday, June 28, 2006, at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Fla., following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 1, at Hopeful Baptist Church with the Rev. John Hathaway officiating assisted by the Rev. Doyle Williams and the Rev. Charles Pettis. Burial will follow at Bethel Methodist Church Cemetery in Lake City.
Born Nov. 13, 1949, she was the daughter of John C. and Betty Jones of Lake City, Fla. She graduated from Columbia High School in 1967, Lake City Community College in 1969 and the University of Florida in Gainesville in 1971. She was employed by the Columbia County School Board, where she taught English for 34 years at Richardson High School, Columbia High School and Richardson Middle School. She was a member of Evangel Church of God and was the leader of the senior citizens at her church.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Jack and Joseph Jones.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Causey of Lake City, Fla.; a daughter, Becky Causey of Lake City, Fla.; a son, John Causey and wife Avis of White Springs, Fla.; her parents, John C. and Betty Jones of Lake City, Fla.; three sisters, Patsy Dicks and husband Harry of Lake City, Fla., Jane Russell and husband Mike of North Fort Myers, Fla., and Marjorie Afyouni and husband Hossein of Tallahassee, Fla.; nieces and nephews, Emily Dicks Howell and husband Wade, Clay Dicks and wife Amanda, Clint Dicks and wife Katina, Brian Dicks and wife Aimee, Laura Russell, Linda Williams and husband Robert, Eric, Nicole and Julia Afyouni, Sherry Moore and husband Derrick, Gregg Causey and wife Toni, Cindy Hester and husband Ray, Marlon Causey Jr. and wife Suzanne, Todd Causey and wife Jeanne and Annelle Hatzell and husband Martin; and many great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be tonight, June 30, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family requests that memorials be made to the charity of choice.
