Mazell Massey Paul

DOERUN — Mazell Massey Paul, 64, of Doerun died Monday, June 26, 2006, at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 29, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ronald Barrett officiating. Interment will be at Doerun Cemetery.

Born Aug. 5, 1941, in Colquitt County, Ms. Paul was the daughter of the late Eunice Seymore Massey and the late Charlie Dick Massey. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Massey.

Survivors include a son, Chance Hall and wife Mary of Doerun; a daughter, Robbie Bass and husband Tim of Doerun; two sisters, Louise Powell of Albany and Glynell Morey of Sale City; and seven grandchildren, Heather Bailey, Michael Edge, Hanna Bass, Ashley Bass, Staci Bass, Jamie Cantrell and Kelli Cantrell.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Cobb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.



Bobby Rudene Thompson

NORMAN PARK — Bobby Rudene Thompson, 74, of Norman Park, died Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, June 29, at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Kicklighter officiating. Burial will follow at Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with Cleve Thompson, Rudene Thompson, Chad Gay, Will Thompson, Ellis Keen, David Sanders, Earnie Garren and Jarrod Sanders serving as pallbearers. The honorary pallbearers will be Terry Baker, Darrell Thompson, Tim Thompson, Robin McDaniel, Cheyenne Thompson, Delane Thompson and Ronnie Thompson.

Born Dec. 29, 1931, in Cook County, he was the son of the late Grover Cleveland Thompson and Eva Lois Shiflett Thompson. He was retired from Life of Ga. Insurance Company and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by a son, Steve Thompson; brothers, Huel E. Thompson, Louie J. Thompson and Grover Jack Thompson.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel Ray Thompson of Norman Park; sons, Rudene Thompson and wife Betty of Sycamore, Ga., and Cleve Thompson and wife Donna Lynn of Rebecca, Ga.; daughters, Lawana Thompson Garren and husband Earnie of Norman Park and Pam Thompson Sanders and husband David of Hartsfield; brother, Billy Thompson and wife Joyann of Moultrie; sisters, Clarice Delaney of Avon Park, Fla., Helen Cason of Norman Park, Ina Collins of Moultrie, Thelma Baker of Norman Park, Margaret McDaniel and husband Taylor of Adel and Faye Sanders of Albany, Ga.; 10 grandchildren, Jodi Thompson of Ashburn, Ga., Will Thompson of Albany, Ga., Chad Gay of Norman Park, Hope Ragland of Adel, Julie Welsh of Macon, Jarrod Sanders of Hartsfield, Ellis Keen, Jessica Thompson and Terri Thompson of Rebecca, Ga., and Keith Gay of Moultrie; and six great-grandchildren, Hunter Gay, Kaylee Gay, Gracie Gay, Hannah Welsh, Gavin Ragland and Savana Taylor.

Visitation will be tonight, June 28, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Frances Allen Psalmond

MOULTRIE — Frances Allen Psalmond, 89, of Moultrie, died Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at Brownwood Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 29, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ron Shiver officiating and special music, “Amazing Grace” and “The Old Rugged Cross,” by Jon Burr. Burial will follow at Funston Cemetery with Bobby Goss, Brad Streetman, Henry Mendoza, Marshall Hughes, Sam Stephenson and Chuck Scarborough serving as pallbearers.

Born Nov. 23, 1916, in Baker County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Mary E. Jones Allen and Doffus Allen. She was retired from Swift and Company.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas G. Psalmond.

Survivors include her son, Gerald W. Psalmond and wife Jean of Moultrie; six grandchildren, Lynn F. Hughes and husband Marshall of Mississippi, Krissy B. Mendoza and husband Henry of Texas, Stacy R. Burr and husband Jon of Texas, LeAnn C. Streetman and husband Brad of South Carolina, Leroy Cates of Moultrie and Michael T. Humbers of Moultrie; nine great-grandchildren, Lauren Hammack, Brianna Hammack, Caleb Burr, Joshua Burr, Gage Humbers, Kenneth Humbers, Waylon Mendoza, Jakob Mendoza and Matthew Streetman; and a special niece, Margie E. Alderman of Moultrie.

Visitation will be tonight, June 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
