District tournaments open on Monday

MOULTRIE — Eight Colquitt County youth all-star teams will open Georgia Recreation and Parks Association District III tournament play this week, including six that will play Monday night.
The Colquitt County 14-and-under girls all-stars will play host to the District III tournament that begins Monday at the Jim Buck Goff Recreation Complex.
The tournament will include five teams, with the championship game set for 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Colquitt County will help open the tournament when it meet Crisp County at 6 p.m.
Also at 6 p.m., Grady County will meet Bainbridge, with the winner advancing to a 7:45 p.m. game against Lee County.
Colquitt County’s 12-and-under girls will open District play at 7:15 p.m. against Bainbridge in Thomasville, and the 17-and-unders will play Thomasville at 5:30 p.m. Monday in Thomasville.
The 10-and-under will meet Lee County at 6 p.m. Thursday when its District tournament starts in Tifton.
Two all-star teams will represent the Moultrie-Colquitt County Parks and Recreation Department in both the 12-and-under sub-District III tournament in Thomasville and in the 10-and-under District tournament in Leesburg.
Both tournaments open on Monday.
In Thomasville, the Colquitt County 12-and-under A all-stars will face Thomasville B and the Colquitt County B all-stars will meet Grady County. Both games will start at 5:30 p.m.
The tournament winner will meet the survivor of the other sub-District tournament in a best-of-3 District III championship series beginning July 6 in Thomasville.
In the 10-and-under tournament in Leesburg, Colquitt County B will meet Crisp County in its first game at 6 p.m. Monday.
Colquitt County A will face the Sylvester-Thomasville winner at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
