Dorothy Hazel Walden Tucker

BEAUFORT, S.C. — Dorothy Hazel Walden Tucker, 84, of Beaufort, S.C. died Saturday, May 13, 2006 in Summit Place of Beaufort.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 17 in the Chapel of Anderson Funeral Home with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Born August 27, 1921 in Meriwether County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Hood Walden and Rosa Belle Temple Walden. She was a resident of Beaufort for over 50 years. She operated a fruit stand in Albany, Ga. then worked at Garland Mills in Beaufort and was also a seamstress on Parris Island. She was a member of Eastern Star and The Baptist Church of Beaufort.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wanza Oree Tucker; four brothers, Odell Walden, Alford Walden, Chester Walden and Kermit “Buddy” Walden; and three sisters, Rosalee Dees, Myrtle Lyles and Dolores Meadows.

Survivors include three daughters, Wanda Day of Naples, Fla., Sandra Santaniello of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Tanya Marshall of Beaufort, S.C.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight, May 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home.

George Clifford Barfield

MOULTRIE — George Clifford Barfield, 87, of Moultrie died Saturday, May 13, 2006, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 15, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Mahan and the Rev. Roger Benton officiating. Interment followed at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Francis O’Neal, Ronald Paul, Marvin Clayton, Frank Farmer, Frank Belcher and Marion Mathis served as casketbearers.

Born May 24, 1919, in Colquitt County, Mr. Barfield was the son of the late Nettie Dawson Barfield and the late Howard Lee Barfield. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service, serving as postmaster of the Boston, Ga. post office., and was a member and deacon at First Baptist Church of Moultrie. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom Barfield and Paul Barfield; and a sister, Frances Wood.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Aline Norman Barfield of Moultrie; a daughter, Karen Barfield Johnson of Moultrie; a grandson, Clifton Wayne Johnson of Valdosta; and a sister, Ethel Knight of Santa Ana, Calif.

Cobb Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.



Patricia Lynn “Prissy” Boozer

MOULTRIE — Patricia Lynn “Prissy” Boozer, 38, of Moultrie died Sunday, May 14, 2006 at her residence.

Funeral services will be 4 p.m. today, May 16 at Harrell-Faircloth Funeral Home with the Rev. J.E. Moak officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery with Dennis Boozer, David Hancock, John Rentz, David Rentz, Hal Suber and Al Whittington serving as pallbearers.

Born Oct. 26, 1967 in Colquitt County she was the daughter of Gyn Boozer and Dayton Boozer of Moultrie and a member of Oakdale Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Scott Boozer.

Survivors include brothers, Gary Boozer and wife Nancy of Fairfield Glade, Tenn., Randy Boozer and wife Peggy of Winston-Salem, N.C., Joey Boozer of Portsmouth, Va. and Craig Boozer and Jan Baggett of Moultrie; nieces, Ragan Boozer of Dunwoody, Ga. and Kerri Boozer of Winston-Salem, N.C.; a nephew, Matthew Boozer and wife Natalie of Corpus Christi, Tex.; a great-niece, Katie Boozer; a great-nephew, Carter Boozer; a cousin, Dennis Boozer and wife Quenna and their daughter Savannah Boozer.

Visitation was Monday night from 7 to 9 p.m.

Fitzgerald Triplets

DOUGLAS — The infant triplets of Clay and Ellen Drury Fitzgerald died on Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at the Memorial Health University Medical in Savannah.

Graveside services were held 11 a.m., Saturday, May 6 at the Douglas City Cemetery with the Rev. Shep Johnson officiating.

Survivors include their parents, Clay and Ellen Drury Fitzgerald of Douglas; their grandparents, Judith Drury of Douglas, Mills Drury of Brunswick, Ga. and Steve and Barbara Fitzgerald of Moultrie; their great-grandparents, Virginia Norris of Douglas, Clarence Summerford of Moultrie and Cecil Fitzgerald of Greenville, Fla.
