Lois Smith Mims

HARTSFIELD — Lois Smith Mims, 83, of Hartsfield died Friday, May 5, 2006, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 8, at Hartsfield Baptist Church with the Rev. Andy Hall and the Rev. Terry Webb officiating. Interment will follow at Hartsfield Cemetery. Jim Ouzts, Glenn Underwood, Buddy Gay, Vance Mims, Jeff Green and Ansley Smith will serve as casketbearers.

Born Dec. 12, 1922, in Mitchell County, Mrs. Mims was the daughter of the late Bessie Allegood Smith and the late Russell Smith. She was the owner and operator of Mims Grocery in Hartsfield and was a member of Hartsfield Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Herschel Mims; and a son, Mickey Mims.

Survivors include a daughter, La Jean Mims Reid and husband Bill of Hartsfield; four grandchildren, Travis Mims, Samantha Mims Wilkin, Chris Reid and Hank Reid; and three great-grandchildren, T.J. Mims, Zach Mims and Courtney Johnson.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 today at the funeral home.

The family requests memorials be made to the Colquitt Regional Hospice, P.O. Box 40, Moultrie, GA 31776.

Mina Shaver McDaniel

NORWOOD, N.J. — Mina Shaver McDaniel of Norwood, N.J., former long-time resident of Moultrie, died May 5, 2006, in Pascack Valley Hospital after a lengthy illness.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Yacobacci, and her granddaughter, Evelynne Tam, both of Norwood, NJ.
