Barbara Anne Duffy

MOULTRIE — Barbara Anne Duffy, 52, died Tuesday, April 18, 2006, in Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta.

A mass will be held 5 p.m. Sunday, April 30, at Immaculate Conception Church in Moultrie.

Born in Elizabeth, N.J., she lived in Rahway and Toms River, N.J., and Albany, Ga., before moving to Moultrie. She worked for the SOWEGA Council on Aging in Albany as a wellness director for eight years. Earlier, she was a retail manager for Bob Kislen’s Sporting Goods in Toms River, N.J. She was also a member of the Ladies Guild at Immaculate Conception Church in Moultrie and Right to Life Georgia, and she volunteered for many charitable organizations.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Duffy; daughters, Colleen Duffy and Eileen Ealey; her mother, Anne Barrett Chussler; brothers, John Chussler and Robert Chussler; sister, Anne Hoblitzel; and a grandson, Robert Avery.



Louis Shepard

MOULTRIE — Louis Shepard, 93, of Moultrie died Thursday, April 27, 2006, at the Woodlands at Cobblestone.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 29, at First Presbyterian Church of Moultrie with the Rev. Hugh Ward officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery.

Born June 1, 1912, in Bridgeboro, Mr. Shepard was the son of the late John Bowles Shepard and the late Irene Hewatt Shepard. He was the owner of Shepard’s Fertilizer Co. and was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Moultrie. He was a veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by two wives, Frances Agner Shepard and Ruth Chastain Shepard; and a stepdaughter, Patricia Chastain Childs.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Agner Shepard of Moultrie and Susan Shepard Heim and husband Bruce Kennedy of State College, Pa.; a stepson, Jack C. Chastain and wife Carolyn of Moultrie; four grandchildren, Frances Heim Young and husband Richard Clark, John William Heim, Benjamin Louis Heim and wife Robin Ann and Janet Heim Egerer and husband Major Fred Henry; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Moultrie.

Lois Wisham Fuches

MOULTRIE — Lois Wisham Fuches, 84, native and lifelong resident of Moultrie, died Thursday, April 27, 2006, at Park Regency after a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be conducted by Father Michael Smith at 11 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where she had been a devoted member since the marriage to her late husband, Edward Jones Fuches, on Nov. 18, 1943. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with Joey Herndon, Pat Fath, Kim Perryman, Jim Murphy, Ricky DeMott and Bill Bradley serving as pallbearers. The Colquitt Regional Volunteer Auxiliary, originally known as the Pink Ladies, are asked to serve as honorary escorts.

She had met her late husband while serving as an administrative secretary at Spence Field during World War II. He preceded her in death on March 7, 1983.

“Lo-Lo,” as she was fondly called by her grandchildren, was among the original group of Pink Ladies who organized in the early 1960s to volunteer at the local hospital, and she was active until health forced her to retire. Her family said she was the quintessential wife, mother and homemaker as she shared her gifts of gardening, sewing, cooking as ceramics with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Horace Wisham; mother, Jewell Strange Wisham; sisters, Jeannete Herndon and Juanita Fletcher; and brother, Elton Wisham.

Survivors include her sons, Michael Fuches and wife Phyllis and Tommy Fuches and wife Becky, all of Moultrie; brothers, Jerry Wisham of Moultrie, Bobby Wisham of Conyers, Ga., and Milton Wisham of Donalsonville, Ga.; granddaughters, Stephanie Henderson of Thomasville and Christy Fuches of Moultrie; grandson, Mark Fuches of Nashville, Ga.; and great-granddaughter, Madison Perryman of Thomasville.

Memorials may be made to Colquitt Regional Hospice of Moultrie.

A rosary will be conducted Sunday, April 30, from 7 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral chapel and the family will receive friends afterward until 9 p.m.

Juanita Frailey Adcock

MOULTRIE — Juanita Frailey Adcock, 85, died Friday, April 28, 2006, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m., Monday, May 1, at Harrell-Faircloth Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. O.W. Willis of Highpoint, N.C., officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memory Gardens with Dr. David Adcock II, Nathan Jordan, Andrew Jordan, Brent Adcock, Ryan Adcock, David Adcock III and Stephen Adcock serving as pallbearers.

Born July 15, 1920, in Elizabethtown, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Amy Stalions Frailey and the late Charles Alexander Frailey. She had been a resident of Moultrie for 30 years after moving from Frankfort, Ind. Her career of teaching school spanned a 38-year period including 14 years in the Colquitt County School System. Her teaching experience included almost every grade from first to college. She graduated summa cum laude from Butler University and received two post-graduate degrees from the same institution.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. James Wesley Adcock; and brothers, Oscar, Reginald and Woodrow Frailey.

Survivors include her daughter, Wesena Adcock Jordan and husband Dr. Larry Jordan of Joplin, Mo.; sons, Dr. D.W. Adcock and wife Beverly of Moultrie, Dr. S.N. Adcock of Albany, Ga., and Dr. S.R. Adcock of Moultrie; sisters, Geneva Frailey Wootton of Elizabethtown, Ill., and Wanda Frailey Knopinski and husband Norb of Boulder, Colo.; grandchildren, Dr. David Adcock II and wife Judy, Dr. Elaine Adcock Barber and husband Steve, Michael Adcock, Winnie Adcock Angelillo and husband Rocko, Nathan Jordan, Andrew Jordan and wife Sarah, Larissa Jordan, Brent Adcock, Ryan Adcock and Nolen Adcock; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday, April 30.

The family requests that memorials be sent to Colquitt Regional Hospice or Colquitt Regional Medical Foundation.

James “J.M.” Williams

LECANTO, Fla. — James “J.M.” Williams, 81, of Lecanto, Fla., died Thursday, April 27, 2006, at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness, Fla.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, May 1, at Fero Funeral Home, Beverly Hills Chapel in Beverly Hills, Fla., with the Rev. Jimmy Sheets officiating. Burial will follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla.

Survivors include his wife, Roberta C. Williams of Lecanto, Fla.; sons, James Williams IV of Atlanta, Jeff Williams of Inverness, Fla., Jerry Williams of Moultrie, Mark Crosley of Orlando, Fla., and Mike Crosley of East Stroudsburg, Pa.; daughter, Jan Williams Rozek of Inverness, Fla.; sisters, Elizabeth Miles of Savannah, Ga., Jeanette Hickman of Dothan, Ala., and Byrdie Kirby of Augusta, Ga.; and 12 grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home at 2 p.m.
