MOULTRIE — The Colquitt County girls golf team shot a 160 on Saturday, good for fourth place in the Maple Ridge Girls Junior Classic held at Maple Ridge Golf Club in Columbus.
The Lady Packers’ Anna Leigh Keith shot a 72 and tied for third with Erica Still of Ware County and Louise Yang of North Gwinnett. Keith lost in the playoff.
Lindsay Hargrove shot an 88 for the Lady Packers other counting score.
“Lindsay was ecstatic with her round,” Colquitt County golf coach Donald Dale said. “She was real happy about breaking 90.”
Shannon Giddens had a 49-48 for a 97, breaking 100 for the first time this season.
Giddens was playing in just her second 18-hole event and Dale said he was pleased with the way she played.
Jill Flowers had a 136.
Gainesville’s Lauren Darnell shot a 68 and was the low medalist. Stacy Kim of Columbus was second with a 69.
Columbus High took first place with a 147. Woodward Academy was second with a 151. Ware County was third with a 152. Colquitt County and Harrison tied for fourth with a 160.
North Gwinnett was fifth with a 161 followed by Gainesville, 160; Pierce County, 169; Greater Atlanta Christian, 173; Dacula, 174; Northside-Columbus, 178; Camden County, 198; and Shaw, 231.
The Maple Ridge event is not sponsored by a high school team, but rather is put on by the membership of the club.
“It is the nicest tournament I’ve ever taken kids to,” Dale said.
