MOULTRIE — Moss Farms Diving coach Ron Piemonte took six divers to the Region 1 championships in Middletown, Conn., last weekend and all six qualified for the East Championships.

Four of the six qualified on both the 1-meter and 3-meter springboards. And the two who qualified on just one board missed qualifying on the other by 2.55 and 1.75 points.

The top six finishers in each event advance to the Spring East Championships to be held April 28-30 in Boston, Mass.

On Sunday, Ann Perry Blank turned in her second straight second place finish to qualify on both boards in the girls 14-15 age group.

She was the runner-up on the 1-meter board on Sunday after finishing second on the 3-meter board on Saturday.

Jillian Braun, also diving the girls 14-15 age group, qualified on Saturday with her fifth-place finish on 3-meter.

But on Sunday, she scored a 225.20 to finish 1.75 points out of sixth place.

Anna Aguero, in the 16-18 competition, qualified on both boards in Middleburg by winning the 3-meter event and finishing second on 1-meter.

Ryan Helms, in 16-18 boys, won the 1-meter event and was second on 3-meter to qualify on both boards.

Owen Blank in 16-18 will go on 3-meter, but finished seventh on 1-meter, just 2.55 points out of sixth.

Leah Piemonte, in 11-and-under girls, was first on 1-meter and third on 3-meter.
