Midle school tennis teams win

MOULTRIE — The Colquitt County middle school tennis teams swept Thomas County Central in Thomasville on Tuesday in their final matches before Saturday’s conference tournament in Tifton.

Both teams won 5-0.

The middle school boys finish the regular season undefeated.

At No. 1 singles, Andrew Harvin defeated Cody Knapp 8-1. At No. 2 singles, Brandon Oaks won over Wesley Sampson 8-1. And at No. 3 singles, Bo Blalock defeated Brandon Sanders 8-4.

At No. 1 doubles, Blake Jenkins and Ryan Sherling defeated Ryan West and Blade Daughtry 8-1. At No. 2 doubles, Jacob Tompkins and Christian Edwards won over Dustin Harrison and Myles Tolbert 8-2.

In extra boys matches, Trey Jones and Russ DeMott won over Thomas Cone and Jesse Hoskins 8-0. John Barber and Dillan Underwood defeated Greg Carr and Corey Rollins 8-0. Kyle Tolbert and Coby King won over Ryan West and Blade Daughtry 8-1; Reed Wells and Paul Leonard defeated Kayla Harrison and Heather Simpson 6-0; Lee Veasey and Jonathan Mobley lost to Wesley Sampson and Brandon Sanders 6-8; and Tyler Houston and Landon Rehberg won over Kaitlyn Brinson and Jessica White 8-0.

In girls play, Constance Terrell at No. 1 singles defeated Jessica White 8-1; Ashton Eunice defeated Kaitlyn Brinson 8-0 at No. 2 singles; and Ivy Jane Reeves defeated Brittany Duren 8-0 at No. 3 singles.

At No. 1 doubles, Jana Harvin and Rachel Funderburk defeated Kendall Quigg and Gracie Moore 8-4.

At No. 2 doubles, Brooke Kick and Eireann Robinson defeated Erica Fletcher and Amanda Stephens 8-7(7-3).
