Herbert R. Tomlinson
MOULTRIE — Herbert R. Tomlinson, 77, of Moultrie died Friday, March 10, 2006, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 13, at Harrell-Faircloth Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Mahan officiating. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memory Gardens.
Born Aug. 10, 1928, in Worth County, Mr. Tomlinson was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Clem Tomlinson. He was retired as a building contractor with Swift and Co. and was a member of First Baptist Church of Moultrie. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Driskell Tomlinson.
Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Tomlinson Simoneau and husband Paul of Tallahassee, Fla., and Cheryl Beall and husband Steve of Valdosta; two brothers, Billy Tomlinson of Dallas, Texas, and Franklin Tomlinson of Santa Maria, Calif.; two sisters, Jackie Odom of Albany and Reba Harnage of Houston, Texas; and four grandchildren, Alexandra Beall, Shanna Beall, Andrew Simoneau and Rachel Simoneau.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 tonight at the funeral home.

Carl Mason
BERLIN — Carl Mason, 67, of Berlin died Saturday, March 11, 2006, at his residence.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 14, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with the Rev, Jim Osborn officiating.
Born March 13, 1938, in Colquitt County, Mr. Mason was the son of the late Lum Mason and the late Vallie Lea Piles Mason. He was a farmer and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Gay Marie Thoman Mason of Berlin; two sons, Carl Lum Mason and wife Stacey of Moline, Ill., and Doyle Eugene Mason and wife Wilma of Montana; four daughters, Prema Ann Ditzenberger, Mary Elizabeth Ditzenberger and husband Chris of Ft. Pierce, Fla., Debbie Dianna Smith and husband Patrick of Alabama and Fanny May Moloeski and husband Dale Holweger of Tifton; two sisters, Catherine Lane of Berlin and Nora Gandy of Adel; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, March 13, at the funeral home.

Glenwood Bennie Allman Sr.
ATLANTA — Glenwood Bennie Allman Sr., 63, of Lithia Springs, Ga., died Wednesday, March 8, 2006, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Chapel in Villa Rica, Ga., with Minister Larry Acuff officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Remembrance at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens on Hickory Level Road in Villa Rica, Ga.
Born March 15, 1942, in Moultrie, he was the son of the late Wiley Benjamin Allman and Flara Bell Aldridge Allman. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served from 1960 until 1964. He was a member of Lithia Springs Church in Christ. He worked as an aircraft mechanic in the aircraft repair industry and had retired from Northwest Airlines and Lockheed.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Theresa Marks Allman.
Survivors include his daughter, Sally Allman of Douglasville, Ga.; his son, Glenwood B. Allman Jr. and his wife Stacey of Whitesburg; his mother, Flara Bell Aldridge Allman of Moultrie; sisters, Denise Cooper of Moultrie, Janet Cooper of Hahira, Katherine Durham of Mansfield, Charlotte Mayo of Logansville, Robyn Rud of Indian Mound, Tenn., Alice Prophater of New London, N.C., and Joyce Jarrell of Moultrie; brothers, Wiley Allman of Tallahassee, Fla., and John Allman of Moultrie; two grandchildren, Katlyn Allman and Glenwood B. Allman III, both of Whitesburg; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will be receiving friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Ga., on Monday, March 13, from 5 to 8 p.m.
