Middle school tennis teams win

MOULTRIE — The Colquitt County middle schools girls tennis team got its first victory of the season on Thursday leading the way to a sweep over Lowndes.
The youngest Lady Packers defeated the Vikettes 4-1. The Colquitt County boys won their third straight, blanking the Vikings, who were forced to forfeit their two doubles matches.
The Lowndes boys team has just three players.
At No. 1 singles for the Colquitt County boys team, Andrew Harvin won over Alex Sabbanarath, 8-0. At No. 2, Bo Blalock defeated Dylan Paulo 8-0. Brandon Oaks completed the singles sweep with an 8-0 win over Dylan Wynn.
In extra boys matches, Ryan Sherling and Blake Jenkins won 6-2; Russ DeMott and Jacob Tompkins won 9-7; and Christian Edwards and Dylan Underwood won their singles matches by 8-0 scores.
Constance Terrell, the Colquitt County girls No. 1 singles player, won over Monica Jarvis 8-2. At No. 2, Ashton Eunice defeated Katy Scaggs 8-3. At No. 3, Rachel Funderburk won over Allison Sims 9-7.
At No. 1 doubles, Jana Harvin and Ivy Jane Reeves won over Shay Smaras and Kacey Hancock 8-0.
At No. 2 doubles, Brooke Kick and Eireann Robison lost to Alexis Seward and Emily Adams 2-8.
Kick and Robison also played an extra match and won over Macy Youngblood and Holly Ehrmantrot 6-1.
The Colquitt County middle schools team will travel to Coffee on Tuesday.
