MOULTRIE — Lindsay Hargrove will become a pioneer of sorts later this year.

The Colquitt County High senior has signed with Thomas University to be one of the members of the school’s first women’s golf team.

The school announced in October that it was adding women’s golf and named Glen Arven Country Club assistant professional Ena Parrott as its coach.

Thomas has signed six players for its first team. The others are Holli Thompson, Jessica Salter and Krisi Weaver of Thomasville, Kimberlee Lawson of Tallahassee and Hannah Yates of Fernandina Beach, Fla.

Hargrove will be part of a Colquitt County High girls golf team that coach Donald Dale expects to be competitive in Region 1-AAAAA this spring.

She plays junior golf out of Sunset Country Club.

Hargrove is an active member of Colquitt County High and has had a varied athletic career.

Today, she will compete with the Colquitt County High swim team in its final meet of the season.

She also is a member of the varsity cheerleading squad.

In addition, she has the lead role of Belle in Colquitt County High’s presentation of “Beauty and the Beast.”
