Holiday thefts tally $12,388

MOULTRIE — A total of 12 incidents of theft were reported to law enforcement officers during the New Year’s holiday weekend. Items reported stolen ranged from electronic equipment, cash and purses to toolboxes and boxes of candy bars.
The total amount of items stolen and damages caused from the thefts was approximately $12,388. Those who reported being the victims of theft over the holiday weekend were:
• Desiree Nelson, of 12th Street Southeast, reported a male acquaintance stole her Nextel cell phone from her Sunday. The value of the stolen cell phone was $250.
• A church member at Friendship Baptist Church on Sixth Avenue Northwest reported an unknown person threw a brick through a window at the Fellowship Hall Annex and stole an RCA 52-inch television, two Sylvania VCR’s, two CD/tape players and a Casio keyboard. Damage to the window and the total value of the stolen items was approximately $3,100.
• Debra Martin, of Sixth Avenue Southeast, reported a male relative stole her purse, containing $200 cash, her Georgia identification card and her Social Security card, Monday. The total value of the stolen items was $235.
• William McFaden, of Circle Drive, reported an unknown person stole a Mattco toolbox from outside his residence while in the process of moving between 8 a.m. and 6:16 p.m. Sunday. The value of the stolen toolbox was approximately $5,000.
• Ronnie Sutton, of 14th Street Southeast, reported an unknown person kicked in the front door of his residence and stole a box of Snickers candy bars, a box of Twix candy bars and a box of Mr. Goodbar candy bars between 4 p.m. and 10:48 p.m. Saturday. Damage to the door and the total value of the stolen candy bars was approximately $130.
• Mary Magwood, of Seventh Street Southwest, reported an unknown person stole her son’s Sony PlayStation 2, two controllers and two games Friday. The total value of the stolen items was $378.
• Leroy Holton reported an unknown person tore down the sheet rock and an electric panel and stole an electric stove, outdoor air conditioning unit and a bar stool from a rental property on Yogi Bear Road between Dec. 1 and Friday. The total value of the stolen items was $1,135.
• Dusty Carter, of Croft Road, reported an unknown person broke out a window at his residence and stole his roommate’s Sony PlayStation 2, two Phillips speakers and a Phillips DVD player between 9 p.m. Saturday and 4 a.m. Sunday. The total value of the stolen items was $500.
• Melissa Blackwell reported an unknown person stole a Hitachi skill saw, a Bissell vacuum cleaner, a washer and a dryer from her former residence on East Bethel Avenue between 9 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. Monday. The total value of the stolen items was $960.
• Shawn Griffin reported an unknown person kicked in the door of a residence on 15th Street Southeast and rummaged through the residence between 5 p.m. Saturday and 10:30 a.m. Monday. Damage to the door was unknown at the time of report, but nothing was reported stolen from the residence.
• Jan McDonald, of Friendship Trail, reported an unknown person stole a Canon 35 mm camera, a 200 mm lens, a Low Pro case and several rolls of film from her Ford Expedition between 7:30 p.m. Sunday and 6 p.m. Monday. The total value of the stolen items was $400.
• Beatrice Mena reported an unknown person stole a JVC DVD/VCR unit from her son’s residence on Overlook Drive Tuesday. The value of the stolen DVD/VCR unit was $300.
