Roy Wayne Scott
FUNSTON — Roy Wayne Scott, 57, of Funston died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2005, at his residence.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Born Feb. 22, 1948, in Colquitt County, he was the son of Wynema Wiggins Scott of Funston and Roy Coolidge Scott of Funston. He was a retired lineman for the City of Moultrie and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his brothers, Gary Scott and his wife Gail of Moultrie, Ricky Scott and his wife Marcell of Cordele, and David Scott and his wife Sandra of Funston; his sister, Donna Riley of Atlanta; and several nieces and nephews.
Cobb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Thomas Eugene “Gene” Daughtry
MOULTRIE — Thomas Eugene “Gene” Daughtry, 64, of Moultrie died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23, at Riverside Holiness Church with the Rev. Mark Jordan officiating. Interment will follow at Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens. Don Price, Brian Price, Ricky Daughtry, Wayne Bryant, Barry Daughtry and Lynnie Daughtry will serve as pallbearers.
Born Aug. 7, 1941, in Colquitt County, he was the son of the late Dora Barrett Daughtry and the late Andrew Judson Daughtry. He was a trimmer with Destiny Mobile Home and was a member of Riverside Holiness Church.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ermon Daughtry and Homer Daughtry.
Survivors include a brother, Henry Daughtry and wife Juanita of Pavo; sisters, Lorene V. Pacifico of Gastonia, N.C., Elsie Mae Poole and husband Hiras of Moultrie and Mary Ann Shirlock and husband Arthur of Moultrie; a special nephew, Keith Daughtry and wife Susie of Moultrie and their children, Nicole and Tom, to whom he was Papa; and other nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be tonight from 6-8 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Emma Lee Wyche
MOULTRIE — Emma Lee Wyche, 83, died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2005, at her residence.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 24, at Grant Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church with Elder J.W. Lewis officiating and the Rev. Florence Bankston assisting. Burial will follow at St. James Pallbearers Cemetery No. 2. Stewards of Grant Chapel AME will serve as pallbearers.
Born June 28, 1922, in Moultrie, she was the daughter of the late Blanche and Savannah Garrison Dennis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Hazel Walker; and one godson, Tobyas Ponder.
Survivors include a devoted, loving husband, Buford Wyche of Moultrie; a daughter, Emma Jean Kendrix and husband John of Moultrie; a brother-in-law, Clarence Wyche; 10 godchildren, Sandra Larry, Katrina Sutton, Kim Kindel, Avreyunna Thomas, Michael Sutton, A’Kia Sutton, Latoya Williams, Rickey Williams Jr., Simmie Hall and Tykerius Hall, all of Moultrie; four nieces, Olivia Scott of Tampa, Fla., Aretha Wright of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Bernice Blount and Alvera Robinson, both of Moultrie; cousins, Arthur Lee and Mable Jones of Moultrie; two special, dear friends, Hattie Mae Walker and Mary Anderson, both of Moultrie; and a host of relatives and friends.

Merle Newell
MOULTRIE — Merle Newell, 86, died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2005, at The Woodlands Living Center in Moultrie.

Edward R. Anderson
OMEGA — Edward Rudolph “Ed” Anderson Jr., 43, of Omega, formerly of Sneads Ferry, N.C., died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005, at this residence.
A private celebration of his life will be held for family and friends at 3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 25, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 22, 1942, in Port Royal, S.C. to Edward Rudolph Anderson Sr., who preceded him in death, and Martha Elizabeth Baldree Anderson of Omega. He was a lifetime resident of Sneads Ferry, N.C., before moving to Colquitt County four years ago. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a carpenter and professional sea captain and enjoyed fishing, woodworking and history.
Survivors include his mother; one sister, Cynthia Anderson Hernandez of Omega; one niece, Marisa Hernandez of Omega; two nephews, Dustin Green of Omega and Drue Green of the United States Army, Hannau, Germany; three great-nephews, Jakob, Kaleb and Andrue Green; one great-niece, Annabelle Green; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
