Rita Rogers Sweat
PLANT CITY, Fla. — Rita Rogers Sweat, 73, of Plant City, Fla., died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2005, in Temple Terrace, Fla.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, at Harrell Faircloth Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery.
Born April 28, 1932, in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Jack and Lucy Corrado.
She was preceded in death by her former husbands, Melvin Rogers and Floy Sweat; and a son, Howard Bakhsh.
Survivors include son, Keith Rogers and wife Jayne of Plant City, Fla.; stepdaughters, Connie Bivins and husband Jack, Laverne Wise, Eve Dunn and husband James, all of Moultrie, and Judy Beverly and husband Monty of Warner Robins, Ga.; brothers, Keith Corrado of Florida and Carlo Corrado of N.Y.; sisters, Barbara Nagy, Doris Jimolka, both of Florida, Dorothy Rennhack, Lorraine Armstead both of New York, and Veronica Cocciardi, Kathleen Goroly, Helen Brandenberg, all of Georgia; a grandchild, Kristopher Keith Rogers; 14 stepgrandchildren; 14 stepgreat-grandchildren; two stepgreat-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Delmas Williams.
Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. on Thursday.

Opal Scott Vines
MOULTRIE — Opal Scott Vines, 90, died December 19, 2005, at Woodlands Living Center in Moultrie.
Services will be held at Harrell-Faircloth Funeral Chapel at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 21, with a private burial at Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens, the Rev. Jerry Mahan officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law.
Born November 6, 1915, in Mitchell County, Mrs. Vines was the daughter of the late James E. and Hettie Louise Scott. She was a member of the Hartsfield Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Thomas Vines.
Survivors include a brother, Roy Scott and wife Wynema of Funston; two sons, Dewey Ralph Vines and wife Gail of Albany and Aubrey Bruce Vines and wife Mary of Moultrie; two daughters, Barbara Vines Fallin and husband Billy of Moultrie and Genelda Vines Godfrey and husband Frank of Marietta; 12 grandchildren, Leah Fallin Sumner and husband Mike of Newnan, Laura Fallin Redding and husband Bob of Alexandria, Va., William Brady Fallin of Newnan, David R. Vines and wife Steffey of Donaldsonville, Dee Dee Vines Griffith and husband Tim of Lake City, Fla., Derek Vines of Lake City, Fla., Missy Johnson and husband Steve of Sylvester, Gretchen Godfrey Howland and husband John of Woodstock, Richard Frank Godfrey Jr. and wife Kathy of Brasselton, Aubrey Craig Vines and wife Nicole of Moultrie and Jonathan Adam Vines of Alpharetta; and 20 great-grandchildren. Special friends Eugene and Lenora Perryman of Hartsfield also survive.
The family will receive friends in the chapel immediately following the service.

PAVO — Thomas Eugene “Gene” Daughtry, 64, of Pavo died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005, at his residence.

Orie Lee “TT” Bennett
MOULTRIE — Orie Lee “TT” Bennett, 61, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2005, at her residence.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, at Live Oak Baptist Church with the Rev. John W. Greene Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at St. James Pallbearers Cemetery No. 2. Bobby Stafford, John Howard, Frankie Irby, Warikeith Williams, Tony Wilson and Clifford Bennett will serve as pallbearers.
Born Feb. 7, 1944, in Wilcox County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late George and Lizzie Dell Thornton Bennett.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Joseph Bennett, George Bennett and Mitchell Bennett; and two sisters, Carolyn Smith and Mildred Bracken.
Survivors include four brothers, David Bennett and wife Barbara of Wildwood, Fla., Benjamin Bennett and wife Edith of Albany, and Clifford Bennett and Ulysees Bennett, both of Moultrie; two sisters, Edna Bennett and Irene Williams, both of Moultrie; two devoted nieces, Katrina Thomas and Tangular Norman, both of Moultrie; one devoted nephew, Marcus Yates of Moultrie; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

ATLANTA — Eunice Foster, 85, formerly of Moultrie died on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2005, at Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, 2005, at Grant Chapel AME Church with the Rev. Florence Bankston officiating. The Revs. John W. Boatwright, E.H. Hopkins and John W. Greene will assist. Burial will follow at St. James Pallbearers Cemetery No. 1. The Steward Board of Grant Chapel AME Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. Lakwan Pruitt, Shannon Pruitt, Jason Scott, Marcus Scott, Adrian Brown and Arthur Foster Jr. will serve as pallbearers.
Born April 24, 1920, in Colquitt County, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Mary Lee Holton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a stepmother, Endiana Holton; a brother, Lester R. Holton Jr.; and a sister, Clara Lee Holton Davis.
Survivors include her husband, Lewis Elliot Foster of Moultrie; three daughters, Joyce Pruitt and husband Leslie of Chicago, Ill., Brenda Scott and husband Bernard of Decatur, Ga., and Prudence Harrington and husband Roger of Greensboro, N.C.; six grandchildren, Lakwan Pruitt and wife Shannon of Chicago, Ill., Jason Scott and wife Tyisha of Riverdale, Ga., Marcus Scott of Tallahassee, Fla., Adrian Brown and Shana Eunice Louise Brown, both of Greensboro, N.C.; three brothers, William Holton of Mount Rainier, Md., Nathaniel Holton and wife Diane of Moultrie and James Holton of Miami; five sisters, Gladys McNeill of Winter Haven, Fla., Mae Frances Marks McBurrow of Moultrie, Doretha Henderson and husband David of Greensboro, N.C., Rachel Donald of Jacksonville, Fla., and Veronica LaFrance of University Place, Wash.; one aunt, Hattie Lou Holton of Moultrie; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Hermond B. Cosey
MOULTRIE — Hermond B. Cosey, 41, died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2005, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005, at Mother Easter Baptist Church with the Rev. Emory H. Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow at St. James Pallbearers Cemetery No. 2. The Moultrie Police Department will serve as honorary pallbearers. Bernard Herring, Willie B. Sutton, Willie Godfrey, Marcus Cosey, Wayne Herring and Bryant Godfrey will serve as pallbearers.
Born March 23, 1964, in Moultrie, he was the son of Herman B. Herring and the late Annie Ruth Cosey Herring.
He was an officer with the Moultrie Police Department for nine years, worked at Colquitt County High School for 10 years and was a member of the Masons, C.U.P., P.R.E.P. and Upward Bound.
Survivors include his father, Hermond B. “HB” Herring of Moultrie; five sisters, Sherry Barber and husband Roderick, Linda Godfrey, Sandra Herring, Constance Herring and Patricia Hall, all of Moultrie; three brothers, Bernard Herring of Moultrie, Leonard Herring and wife Kimberly of Jacksonville, N.C., and Herman Jackson of Thomasville; one aunt, Louvenia C. Williams of Moultrie; a special friend, Isaiah James of Moultrie; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
