Stunners remain atop Senior standings

MOULTRIE — The Moultrie-Colquitt County Parks and Recreation Department’s girls softball Senior League remains a battleground with three teams running neck-and-neck for the top spot and a fourth team ready to play the spoiler.

On Tuesday, the Stunners remained on the top of the heap, but narrowly, having to score two runs in the final inning to beat the upset-minded Georgia Girls 5-3.

The Georgia Girls’ Ashley Chafin led all hitters with a double and a triple.

In Tuesday’s second game, X-treme scored the winning runs in the bottom of the final inning to beat the Bulldogs 9-8.

Ashley Leverett scored three runs for X-treme. Danielle Flom and Ashley Skeen each had a double for the Bulldogs.

In Mite League play, the Terminators rallied late to beat Dixie Outfitters 15-6.

Shameka Reynolds had three hits, including a home run, to lead the Terminators.

Kayla Croft had two hits, including a double, for Dixie Outfitters.

In Tiny Mites, the Angels held off a late rally by Girl Power to win 14-13.

Samantha Hicks and Nikki Driver led the Angels with two runs each.

Yashelia Fields led Girl Power with three runs.

In Tuesday’s second Tiny Mites game, the Stingers reallied late to beat the Mustangs 12-3.

Conley Ward led the Stingers with three runs.
