Lazy folks

“If you don’t believe people are lazy and irresponsible, drive around and

look at the number of shopping carts scattered all over parking lots.

Most will not walk a few feet to put the carts in the holding place. The

attitude is ‘I don’t care if it gets blown into someone’s vehicle, I’m

leaving’.

It’s about parents

“Schools can’t force kids to attend. They can’t pay them, allow them to

exempt a final (this worked when they did it in the past) or give them

pizza parties.

The only ones who can get them to school and make sure they stay are

their parents or guardians.

The bottom line, whether it be grades, behavior or attendance, is

parents and guardians, but the paper pushers just won’t accept that.

Got it good here

“I know the gas prices in Moultrie are not the lowest in the nation but

to those of you who continually complain, you obviously have not

travelled very far.

In Tallahassee, the prices are as much as 20 cents per gallon higher.

They are higher in Valdosta (even with an Interstate). Leave the state

of Georgia and travel across the country and you will find we have it

pretty good here in Moultrie.

Transit buses

” Transit buses serve those who can’t drive themselves. They are a

visible good in the community. To wail about the phone number because

of its negative Biblical connotations is ignorant.

Bush interview

“Did anyone happen to notice during the interview with Diane Sawyer and

President Bush that he spent some 60 minutes (less commercial time) and

did not bad mouth anyone other than Sadam. It was great to hear a

politician speak and not down-grade his competition.

Thin skinned

“If a Christian is so thin-skinned and delicate as to refuse to ride a

bus with those silly numbers on it, then he or she deserve to walk.

Get over yourselves and be glad thattransportation is available.

Commandments

“Six of the Ten Commandments are already upheld by some law of the

government. It is only the first four commandments that do not need to

be imposed on anyone, those deal with who and how we worship. The last

six are moral laws and in a sense all laws are based on morality.

Ponder this

“Here is something to ponder about when it comes to the Ten Commandments

at Federal Buildings like the one in Alabama. Think about this. Where

does our legal system get the law about killing or stealing? What do you

think that is based on?

Try some raves

“Saddam is in custody; the lights on the square are wonderful; I saw a

policeman patrolling Second Street for speeders, and gas is more

somewhere else if I look, and Al Gore forgot to ask Hillary’s permission

to support a candidate.

I cannot think of anything else I could want for Christmas except for my

neighbors to use this column to only rave for the rest of 2003.
