For Dec. 31
Thank you
“I want to thank those four or five young people who came to my aid when my car broke down in the road on Dec. 20. And I want to thank the young officer Sean Bostick who stayed with until the wrecker got there. Thanks to the young people of Moultrie for helping someone from out of town.”
Poor service
“Does anyone else feel like I do about the poor service we get out here on our roads in the Murray-McCranie and M.Sharpe and Waites Road. We’re not being treated fairly. When they grade them, they don’t fill in the ruts. We pay our taxes and we need service.”
Applause
“I want to rave about the article about the two Catholic ladies. I know one of them and she is always helping someone. Thanks for a great article.”
Confidence issue
“I told a pastor of an issue in confidence. He told someone else and someone else stood up in church and asked prayer for me, calling my name. I don’t appreciate that confidence being broken. I don’t like confrontation. So what should I do?”
Well said
“I agree with the person in Tuesday’s Rants and Raves who spoke out about the Bible being taken out of context. Well said. As well, I’ve seen people through the years search the scriptures to seek to justify something they’ve done as opposed to studying the scriptures as a road map for life.”
Good laugh
“Mr. Walden, in reference to your column, thanks for a good hard laugh on a cold Sunday morning.”
I agree
“I agree with the ranter who said if all those people who have complained about the Ten Commandments would show up for church on Sunday, the churches would be running over.”
Iran tragedy
“While we go about our daily lives in a nation of relative comfort, let’s not forget all of those poor people in Iran in the wake of that awful earthquake. May God have mercy on those folks.”
What was that?
“I just read Denise Wilson El’s letter to the editor. What in the world was she talking about?”
Wash them
“To the safety director for the Colquitt County School System. Your buses might be a little more safer if they were washed more often.”
Wonderful
“I think the new Transit system is a wonderful addition to Moultrie. Finally Moultrie is becoming a real city.”
No cats?
“I called the Humane Society yesterday and I was informed that they do not deal with cats, only dogs. Instead of being called animal control, they should be called dog control only.”
