Playoff games

I think all softball teams in the 13- and 14-year-old league should be treated the same as every other team! If two teams are tied for first, let them battle it out in a softball game. Don’t just give it to the team you like the best. If the team has beat that team twice that DOESN’T matter. Have you ever heard of PLAYOFF GAMES? Don’t go ahead and pick a team to win it cause other teams could be better, you never know! Almost all the teams are from Moultrie except for two in the 13- and 14-year-old league and that is Doerun and Norman Park! They may be only small/medium size communities but they could be the best! So, Recreation Department softball coordinator, give other teams a chance, not just teams from Moultrie, cause from what I saw this year a small community gave another team from Moultrie a run for their money — but who came out with the first place slot? The MOULTRIE team. So give everyone a chance!
Give us jobs
With 10.4 percent unemployment and very little new industry, when are we going to wake up? We need more jobs. Our city and county officials have to promote our county to manufacturers. As voters, it is our responsibility to elect new government if they do not serve all the people in Colquitt County.
Kids having kids
To the one who thinks the place ain’t the school to be teaching about birth control or sex. Obviously, it’s not being taught at the house either. Come on, children are having children. I’m tired of paying for them. Kids shouldn’t be having kids.
Unfair
I cannot believe that anyone can justify taking away the Colquitt County employees’ merit pay by calling it balancing the county budget. You don’t have to have a Ph.D. in mathematics to figure out that giving all the administrators raises and taking away our measly 3 percent is unfair.
High gas prices
Why can you go to Sylvester, Albany, Adel and even Valdosta paying only $1.31 for gas and here in Moultrie it is still $1.42? With taxes as high as they are it seems unfair to people in Moultrie.
Parents did it
If you wanted your child to have a longer baseball season, you should have made yourself more informed. Upon learning that Tiny Mites would not have an All-Stars team, a few parents, along with their children, solicited private funding and called surrounding counties and inquired about 8-and-under summer baseball. We bought uniforms, paid entry fees, etc. These are all things any parent can do. The Moultrie Rec. Dept. had nothing to do with this. Before you start attacking other people, maybe you should point the finger at yourself.
Beautiful park
I would like to commend the Colquitt County Youth Association on their beautiful community park. It’s just too bad that people in the community, especially the VFW, will not allow themselves to enjoy its beautiful nature.
Explain, please
I recently saw a young woman driving a car bearing a bumper sticker which read ‘Choose Death.’ Does anyone know what this relates to, other than a sick mind and soul?
A place to start
Voting no on raising the sales tax would be a great starting point to lowering taxes, period.
Prayer doesn’t matter
Prayer has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not to go to heaven or hell, if indeed there is a hell.
