Debora H. Boyd

MOULTRIE — Debora H. Boyd, 80, of Moultrie died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 30, at Grant Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. Edward Maddox officiating. Burial will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta.

Born in Boley, Okla., Mrs. Boyd was the daughter of the late Versie Carroll Hall and S.G. Hall. She was a retired educator, having served more than 35 years, a volunteer Pink Lady at Colquitt Regional Medical Center and a member of Sigma Gamma Ro Sorority. Mrs. Boyd was also an active member of Grant Chapel A.M.E. Church.

She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Survivors include her daughter, Gwen Ellis of Atlanta; a niece, Debra Daniels Robinson; a nephew, Dennis W. Daniels and wife Cynthia of San Jose, Calif.; four great-nieces, Stephanie, Andrea Lynn, Ebony and Ivory; a great-nephew, Al Robinson Jr.; two brothers-in-law, Thomas Boyd of Washington, D.C., and Inman Boyd of Wichita, Kan.; four devoted friends, Willard Harper, Patrice H. Mills, Thomas Mills and Louvenia Williams; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be held from noon Saturday, Aug. 28, until the time of the funeral.

The family requests that donations be made to the Debora H. Boyd Scholarship Fund c/o Colquitt County Board of Education, P.O. Box 2708, Moultrie, GA 31776.
