Omer E. Key Sr.
NORMAN PARK — Omer E. Key Sr., 80, of P.O. Box 192, Norman Park, died Saturday, June 1, 2002, at Tift General Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, June 3, at Southside Baptist Church, Norman Park, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Philip Robinson will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Jimmy Voyles and the Rev. Quinton Barnes. Pallbearers will be Jason Weaver, Brian Key, Kasey Key, Kevin McCorkle, Wes Dykes, Wayne Kelley and Tim Demott.
Mr. Key was born Jan. 15, 1922, in Randolph County, Ala., to Felix and Ollie Key, both deceased. He was a retired farmer and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Maxwell Key; sons, Omer Key Jr. and wife Brenda, Jerry Key, Ronnie Key and wife Debbie, Wesley Key and wife Carol, and Tommy Key and wife Brenda, all of Norman Park; daughter, Sandra and husband Ben Weaver of Norman Park; brothers, Cecil Key of Moultrie and Neal Key and Doyle Key, both of Norman Park; sisters, Violet Weaver and Lucille Smith, both of Norman Park; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Joe Key, Matthew Key, Early Key and Benny Key; and a sister, Myrtle Fowler.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today, June 2, at Baker Funeral Home.
