Gray Beverly

LAS VEGAS — Gray Beverly, 88, of Las Vegas died Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at Mountain View Hospital in Las Vegas.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. today at Davis Funeral Home in Las Vegas. Burial will follow at Paradise Memorial Gardens in Las Vegas.

Mr. Beverly resided in Moultrie for 65 years and was the owner and operator of Beverly’s Garage. He had lived in Las Vegas since retiring in 1981. Mr. Beverly was a World War II veteran, serving under Gen. George Patton in the European Theater. He was a former member and deacon at Oakdale Baptist Church in Moultrie and, at his death, was a charter member of Amazing Grace Southern Baptist Church in Las Vegas.

Mr. Beverly was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Eubanks Beverly.

Survivors include two daughters, Chris Ryckman and husband Ken and Ellen Coble and husband Ron, all of Las Vegas; a son, Gene Beverly and wife Jeannie of Appomattox, Va.; a brother, J. R. Beverly and wife Donna of Alpharetta; seven grandchildren, Lynn Clifton and husband Todd, Kenny Ryckman, Robin Lemon and husband Scott, and Jim Coble and wife Kelle, all of Las Vegas, Larry Ryckman of Denver, Joy Bagby of Appomattox and Noelle Beverly of Ann Arbor, Mich.; 12 great-grandchildren, Andrew Clifton and wife Natalie of Reno, Nev., Brian Clifton of Norman, Okla., Chris Clifton, Joshua Lemon, James Coble, Devin Coble and Connor Coble, all of Las Vegas, Shawn Lemon of Redding, Calif., Devin Bagby and Makaila Bagby, both of Appomattox, and Madison Ryckman and Jasper Ryckman, both of Denver; and several nieces and nephews.

The body will be available for viewing from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Davis Funeral Home of Las Vegas is in charge of arrangements.



James Ray “Rocky” Jones III

MOULTRIE — James Ray “Rocky” Jones III, 42, of Moultrie died Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 26, at First Baptist Church in Moultrie with the Rev. J.E. Moak, the Rev. Roger Benton and the Rev. Jerry Mahan officiating. Burial will follow at Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens. Casketbearers will be Gregg Hersey, Scotty Cooper, Craig Perryman, David Herndon, Mark Wills, Jackie Allen and Bolen Holman.

Born May 22, 1962, in Moultrie, Mr. Jones was the son of Loyce Jones and Ray Jones. He was the owner and operator of Rocky’s T-Shirts and was a member of First Baptist Church in Moultrie. Mr. Jones was an offensive lineman on the Packer football teams from 1977 to 1979, playing for head coaches Bud Willis and Bob Griffith.

Survivors include his wife, Joy Lynn McDonald Jones of Moultrie; his mother, Loyce Jones of Moultrie; his father, Ray Jones of Moultrie; a sister, Jennifer Kelly and husband Randy of Moultrie; five nieces, Wendy Horne and husband Clint, April Powell and husband Dell and Ansley Gittens, all of Moultrie, Hillary Elliott and husband Brad of Woodstock and Bethany Sears of Arkansas; three nephews, Weston Gittens of Moultrie, Harrison Sears of Arkansas and Ryan McDonald of Wichita, Kan.; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ralph and Mabel McDonald of Moultrie; three sisters-in-law, Gina Sears and husband Bruce of Arkansas, Cassie Stokes and husband Richard of Ball Ground and Cindi Gittens and husband Rick of Moultrie; and a brother-in-law, David McDonald and wife Elaine of Las Vegas.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 tonight at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

The family requests that memorials be made to First Baptist Church, 400 S. Main St., Moultrie, GA 31768.

Cobb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.



Christine Louise Croy Cannon

PAVO — Christine Louise Croy Cannon, 67, of Pavo died Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta.

Arrangements will be announced by Baker Funeral Home.



Gilmer Durand Sanchez

VALDOSTA — Gilmer Durand Sanchez, 25, of Valdosta died Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta.

A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Albany.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Baker Funeral Home.
