Ernest Alfred Strange

MOULTRIE — Ernest Alfred Strange, 73, of Moultrie died Thursday, July 28, 2005, at his residence.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jackie Cabaniss officiating and the Rev. Terry Webb assisting. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memory Gardens. Casketbearers will be Gerald Suber, Mike Hiers, Roger Carter, Bill Suber, Gene Duncan and Billy Thompson. Members of the Kingwood Baptist Church Sunday school class will serve as honorary casketbearers.

Born June 13, 1932, in Colquitt County, Mr. Strange was the son of the late Harley Strange and the late Annie Mae Hancock Strange. He was the retired manager of Allegood’s Grocery and was a member of Kingwood Baptist Church.

Mr. Strange was preceded in death by two brothers, Lemmie Strange and Leonard C. Strange.

Survivors include his wife, Annette Allegood Strange of Moultrie; three daughters, Kathy Fulford and husband Richard, Kandace Duncan and husband Tony and Karla Casteloes and husband Gary, all of Moultrie; and three grandchildren, Keith Casteloes, Joey Casteloes and Brandi Palmer.

Memorial donations may be made to Kingwood Baptist Church or to a charity of one’s choice.

Ruthie Holland Davis

MOULTRIE — Ruthie Holland Davis, 97, of Moultrie died Friday, July 29, 2005, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 31, at First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Winston Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens. Casketbearers will be Joey Bozeman, Lannie Baker, Jerod Williamson, Mike Davis, Dale Davis, Paul Davis, Jim Cooke and David Davis.

Born Sept. 10, 1907, Mrs. Davis was the daughter of the late Needham Holland and the late Lizzie Jane Etheridge Holland. She was a retired cotton mill worker and was of the Assembly of God faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Payton Alexander Davis, and two sons, Hayward Davis and Charles Edwin Davis.

Survivors include a son, Quinton Elijah Davis of Doerun; two daughters, Geraldine D. Williamson and Odessa Elizabeth Davis, both of Moultrie; two brothers, Jimmy Holland of Moultrie and Needham Holland of Pompano Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Maxie Schramm of Birmingham, Ala., and Lunettie Tylka of Wadsworth, Ohio; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 tonight at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
