Laura Louise Prosser
MOULTRIE — Laura Louise Prosser, 66, of Moultrie died Monday, Dec. 5, 2005, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, at Harrell Faircloth Funeral Home with burial at Pinecrest. The Rev. Mike Farmer will officiate.Mrs. Prosser was born July 22, 1939, in Richland County, Ohio, to the late Harry Wharton and the late Merle Wharton. She was a homemaker and a member of First Church of the Nazarene.Survivors include her husband, William J. Prosser of Moultrie; two sons, William L. Prosser and wife Cyndi and Scott Prosser Sr. and wife Kimberly, all of Moultrie; two daughters, Twila L. Weaver of Salisbury, N.C., and Roxana Gunther of Princeton, Ky.; grandchildren, Scott Jr., Lisa and Jessica Prosser, Taryn, James and Amanda Weaver, George and Karl Hoffman, and Rick and Corey Plan; and one great-grandchild, Leila Weaver.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Thursday at Harrell Faircloth Funeral Home.

Wiley Martin Taylor
GEORGETOWN, GA. — Wiley Martin Taylor, 73, of Georgetown died Dec. 3, 2005 at Lakeview Hospital in Eufaula, AL.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 7 at Cobb Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tim Chase and Rev. Rick Hardin officiating. Burial will follow at Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens.
Born May 15, 1932 in Colquitt County, he was the son of the late Annie Delay Taylor and Stoy Thurston Taylor, Sr. He was a retired Tech Sgt. of the United States Air Force. He was preceded in death by brothers, Stoy Thurston Taylor, Jr., A.M. Taylor and Horace Taylor; and sisters, Elizabeth Matthews and Juanita Taylor. Survivors include sons, Mike Taylor of Thomasville, Martin Taylor of Rogers, KY., Melvin Taylor of Bradenton, Fla. and Gary Taylor of Moultrie; daughter, Delores Ragsdale of Cary, N.C.; brother, Cordy Taylor of Prattville, Ala.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation is Wednesday morning from 10 – 11 at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Calvin Lamar Braswell
MOULTRIE — Calvin Lamar Braswell, 89, of Moultrie died Dec. 6, 2005 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday Dec. 8 at Trinity Baptist Church with Dr. Michael Helms officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memory Garden and Daniel Dunn, Marcus Wells, Hoyt Holland, Cole Robbins, Warren Taylor and Ken Braswell will serve as pallbearers. Born Feb. 10, 1916 in Thomas County, he was the son of the late Hattie Freeman Braswell and Uriah Kindred Braswell. He was the Owner/Operator of Braswell Jewelry Store and retired in 1994. He was a member and former deacon and Sunday School teacher at Trinity Baptist Church in Moultrie. One of the highlights of his life was teaching the Boys’ Sunday School Class. Mr. Braswell was also past Chairman of the Downtown Merchants’ Association. He was preceded in death by brothers, A.J., James, Abel and Dorsey Braswell; and sisters, Rene Suber and Sara Braswell. Survivors include his wife of sixty years, Martha Cline Braswell of Moultrie; sons, Michael Calvin Braswell and wife Susan of Jonesboro, Tenn., Steven Mason Braswell and wife Sue Carol of Donaldsonville, Mark Elam Braswell and wife Lisa of Chocowenity, N.C. and Craig Braswell of Moultrie; brother, Larry Braswell of Moultrie; five grandchildren, Scott, Matt, Laura and Blake Braswell and Kristen Swilley; and two great-grandchildren, Steven and Ethan Swilley.
Visitation will be 5 – 7 p.m., this afternoon at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Ira Clark
BLACKSHEAR — Ira Ennis Clark, 90, of Blackshear, Ga. died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005 at his daughters residence following an extended illness. He was a native of Colquitt County but had lived many years in Florida and Mississippi before moving to Pierce County in 2003. He was preceded in death by his parents William F. Clark and Elizabeth Carter Clark and a daughter Patricia Odonegan.
Mr. Clark was retried from the U.S. Post office as a Rural Carrier. He formerly owned Clark Brothers Auto Supply in Lucedale, Mississippi. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a longtime active member of First Baptist Church in Brooksville, Fl. where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent and Choir Director. After moving to Mississippi he became a member of First Baptist Church in Lucedale. He was also a Mason and a member of the Kiwanis. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Mildred Clark of Blackshear, 2 daughters Carol Hunter husband Wray J. of Blackshear, and Dianne Miller of Arkansas, a son Edward Clark wife Betty of Luling, La., 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 2 sisters Nita Hormantz of Port Orange, Fl. and Lucille Seay of Manhattan, Kansas and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Friday in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be 3 p.m. at Oak Dale Baptist Church Cemetery in Colquitt County. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
