Roy E. Mitchell
ANDERSON CITY — Roy E. Mitchell, 70, of Anderson City, died Saturday, July 17, 2004, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 19, at Kimball United Methodist Church with burial in Kimball Cemetery. The Rev. Alvin Taylor and the Rev. Jim Houseal will officiate.
Mr. Mitchell was born April 24, 1934, in Worth County to William David Mitchell Sr. and Camille Clyatt Mitchell. A life-long resident of Worth County, he was a farmer and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a board member of the Department of Family and Children Services and a member of Kimball United Methodist Church, where he was church treasurer for many years and served in many other capacities.
Survivors include his wife, Jackie Hancock Mitchell of Anderson City; sons and daughters-in-law, Brad and Martha Mitchell of Camilla, Vic Mitchell of Rome and Ron and Tina Mitchell of Albany; daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Jeff Paramore of Sylvester; sister, Mildred Mathews of Anderson City; three grandchildren, Jordyn and Ragan Paramore and Cole Mitchell; his mother-in-law, Marguerite Hancock of Anderson City; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Kimball Cemetery Fund, in care of Reggie McCorvey, 106 Varnadoe Road, Doerun, GA 31744.
The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Banks Funeral Home.
Banks Funeral Home, Sylvester, is in charge of arrangements.
Betty J. Hall
MOULTRIE — Betty J. Hall, 63, of 167 Ray G. Hall Lane, Moultrie, died Friday, July 16, 2004, at Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta.
Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday, July 19, at Baker Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Baker-Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, and the Rev. R.T. Castleberry will officiate. Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Hall was born Oct. 22, 1940, in Colquitt County to the late John T. McCall and the late Viola Gunn McCall. She was a homemaker and a member of Buck Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Ray G. Hall; two sons, Boo Hall and wife Pam and John Hall and wife Kim, all of Norman Park; one daughter, Lisa Canady and Jerry Arnold of Moultrie; brothers, John McCall and wife Jo of Tampa, Fla., James McCall and wife Molly of Jacksonville, Fla., and Charlie McCall and wife Olivia of Brinson, Ga.; sisters, Dorothy Montgomery of Moultrie, Ethyl Giddens and husband H.B. of Blythe, Calif., Dene Rowan and husband Carroll of Ray City, Gloria Simpson and husband Clarence of Colquitt and Frances Tatum of Doerun; and grandchildren, Jana Hall, Lynzi Hall, Will Hall, Allyson Sorrell, Robyn Sorrell and Zachary Arnold.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Boots McCall.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today, July 18, at Baker Funeral Home.
