Ruth Grace Foster Hall

MOULTRIE — Ruth Grace Foster Hall, also known as “Aunt Sister,” 89, of 119 29th Ave. Sylvester Drive, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2003, at her residence.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with burial in Pinecrest Memory Gardens. The Rev. Jim Soles will officiate.

Mrs. Hall was born Aug. 26, 1914, in Colquitt County to the late Ora Jane Parks Foster and the late Alfred Lee Foster. She was retired from the accounting department of Swift, and she owned Ruth Hall’s Income Tax Service. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Perry “Buddy” Hall; sisters, Belle Foster and Ruby Foster Ricks; and brothers, Claude Foster, Garnett Foster, Sib Foster, Robert Foster and Marvin Foster.

Survivors include her daughter, Jane Lee Hall Mulkey and husband George of Barwick; a sister, Virginia Tucker and husband Milton of Pensacola, Fla.; a grandchild, Jill Shannon Price and fiance Frank Wisenbaker of Moultrie; two great-grandchildren, Cameron Bristol and Haley Rentz; two special nieces, Ann Weeks of Moultrie and Carolyn Matthews of Pensacola, Fla; a nephew, Donald Tucker of Dothan, Ala.; and great-nieces and nephews, Kim, Keith, Stephen, Ryan, Jason, Kathy and Jennifer.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Cobb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.



Joey Ellis

TIFTON — Joseph “Joey” Travis Ellis Sr., 47, of Tifton, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2003, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors in Tifton. The Rev. Thomas Bundrick, the Rev. Eddie Allen and the Rev. Calvin Bobo will officiate. Burial will be at Oakridge Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Stone, Dwayne Hobbs, Billy Murphy, Greg Murphy, Jimmy Goodman, Ray Evans and Ivey Evans.

Mr. Ellis was born Feb. 24, 1956, in Baltimore, Md., to Jeanette Goodman Handy of Tifton and the late Terrence Ellis Sr. He owned and operated an upholstery business. He lived in Tifton most of his life and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Carter Ellis of Nashville; his mother and stepfather, Jeanette Goodman Handy and Leonard Handy of Tifton; one son, Joseph Travis Ellis Jr. of Tifton; daughter, Kala Nichole Ellis of Columbia, S.C.; two brothers, Terrance Larve Ellis Jr. and Michael Wade Ellis, both of Tifton; two sisters, Sandra Lee Gillis of Acworth and Patricia Ann Brooks of Tifton; and four grandchildren, Caleb Ellis, Ryan Ellis, Katelyn Walters and Ashley Ellis.
