Frank O’Neal Hendrick Jr.
MOULTRIE — Frank O’Neal Hendrick Jr., 80, of Moultrie died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003, at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville.
Graveside services will be held at noon Friday, Jan. 2, at Westview Cemetery with Dr. Hugh Ward officaiting.
Born July 22, 1923, in Conway, S.C., Mr. Hendrick was the son of the late Annie Hayes Hendrick and Frank O’Neal Hendrick Sr. He was a retired farmer and an executive with Tom’s Foods of Columbus. He was a graduate of the Citadel in Charleston, S.C., and was a veteran of World War II. Mr. Hendrick was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Moultrie.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Sanders Hendrick; a daughter, Ann Hendrick Moore and husband Larry Edward Moore of Spartanburg, S.C.; a son, Frank O’Neal Hendrick III and wife Portia Payne Hendrick of Atlanta; and grandchildren, Elizabeth Hayes Moore and Payne O’Neal Hendrick.
Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. today at the family home at 114 Dogwood Circle.

Joseph ‘Joe’ Thomas
DOERUN — Mr. Joseph “Joe” Thomas, 63, of Doerun died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, at Beulah Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Bernard Collier officiating. Burial will be in Dunk Smith Cemetery in Doerun. Employees of Taylor’s Manufacturing will serve as pallbearers.
Born Aug. 11, 1940, in Ray City, Mr. Thomas was the son of the late Abraham Thomas and Helen Louise Pennington Thomas.
Survivors include his two daughters, Mildred Ann Thomas and Theresa Thomas and friend Matthew, all of Doerun; a sister, Bernice Mollay and husband Martin of Ray City; two brothers, James Thomas and wife Dorothy of Atlanta, and Joe Frank Thomas and wife Evelyn of Tifton; three grandchildren, Floyd Bryant, Vickie Howard and Samuel Matthew Howard, all of Doerun; one aunt, Ermase Evans of Mulberry, Fla.; one uncle, Malachi Thomas of Lake Wales, Fla.; five special friends, Mildred Thomas, Ruby Edwards, both of Doerun, Danny Lee Jackson of Bridgeboro, Wayne Daniels and Lonnie Carson, both of Doerun; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Louise Bell Dossey
SUMTER, S.C. — Louise Bell Dossey of Sumter, S.C., died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003, at a local nursing center.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with the Revs. Julian Griner and Kay Twombley officiating.
Born in Blackville, S.C., Mrs. Dossey was the daughter of the late James Parker Bell and Evelyn Odessa Johnson Bell. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church and Sumter Chapter 188 Order of Eastern Star. She was a retired Civil Service procurement supervisor at Shaw Air Force Base.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman D. Dossey.
Survivors include a son, Dr. James Michael Twombley of Dillon; four daughters, Linda Gilchrist of Elgin, Lisa Griner of Moultrie, Sandra McCallum of Mt. Airy, N.C., and Sheron Lanning of Wanchese, N.C.; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Casey Lyn Allen
MOULTRIE — Casey Lyn Allen, 18, of Moultrie died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, at Funston Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Shiver officiating. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eric Warren, Ben Thomas, Corey Jackson, Clif Flowers, Chad McDaniel, Judd Lasseter, Kelly Walker and Colby Simpson.
Born July 6, 1985, in Colquitt County, Mr. Allen was the son of Gina Tucker Dell and Kim Allen. He was an electrician’s helper with Knight’s Electric and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his mother, Gina Tucker Dell of Moultrie; his father, Kim Allen of Moultrie; two brothers, Kim Allen Jr. and wife Amanda and Ben Allen, all of Moultrie; his grandparents, Harry and Ophelia Allen of Funston and L.L. “Bonnie” and Laverne Tucker of Moultrie; and a special friend, Stephanie Storrusten of Meigs.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. tonight at the funeral chapel.

Jack Everett McDurman
MOULTRIE — Jack Everett McDurman, LUTCF, 57, of Moultrie died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, at Lakeside Assembly of God with the Rev. Steve Comer officiating. Burial will be in Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Bryant Brown, Bernard Clark, Clayton Murphy, Mike Clark, Randy Jenkins, Steve Sanders and Billy Smith.
Born May 12, 1946, in Whigham, Mr. McDurman was the son of the late Rennie Viola Pope McDurmon and Herman Everett McDurmon. He was an insurance agent and financial advisor with Life of Georgia in Bainbridge. Mr. McDurman was president of the Moultrie Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. He was a member of Lakeside Assembly of God. He served with the military police in the U.S. Army. Mr. McDurman was known as Uncle Jack (Poppy) to the neices and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Chad E. McDurman.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Strickland McDurman of Moultrie; a brother-in-law, Glenn Strickland of Doerun; a sister-in-law, Vicki Dorminey and husband Wade of Moultrie; his mother-in-law, Mae Strickland; nieces, Jenna Strickland, Kelli Dorminey Weeks, Stacey Strickland Grantham and Lora Strickland Porter; nephews, Glenn Chad Strickland and Heath Dorminey; a great-niece, Jordyn Grantham; and great-nephews, Hunter Grantham and Nick Porter.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. tonight at the funeral chapel.
