E. Lamar Clark
CAIRO — E. Lamar Clark, 77, of Cairo died Monday, Sept. 9, 2002, at Pinewood Nursing Center in Whigham.
Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. today, Sept. 11, at Clark Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ron McCaskill officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lamar Crosby, Greg Crosby, Terry Duncan, Jack Duncan, Jason Howell and Frank Pritchett. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. J.K. Singleton, members of the Fisher Men’s Sunday School Class, Dr. Paul Steinberg, Dr. S.L. Hancock and co-workers of Grady EMC.
Born Sept. 26, 1924, in Colquitt County, Mr. Clark was the son of the late Elmer Lee and Una Sumner Clark. He was a retired lineman and supervisor with Grady Electric Membership Corp. and was a member of First Baptist Church of Cairo. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Christine Priddy.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Crosby Clark; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Ken Collins of Port St. Joe, Fla.; grandchildren, Tessa Collins and Simon Collins, both of Port St. Joe, Fla.; a sister Hazel Duncan of Moultrie; and a stepsister, Gloria Marshall of Hartsfield.
Clark Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mary Jane Harrell Connell
TIFTON — Mary Jane Harrell Connell, 73, of Tifton died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2002, at Southern Care Assisted Living Residence.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, at First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. T. Manuel Johnson officiating.
Mrs. Connell donated her body to science to help find a cure for pulmonary fibrosis.
Born March 7, 1929, in Nashville, Mrs. Connell was the daughter of the late John A. Harrell and Susie Isley Rowe Harrell. She was retired from J.P. Stevens, and was a former employee of ABAC Dining Hall, where she was elected by ABAC students as Favorite Employee of the Month. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene of Tifton. Mrs. Connell was a resident of Tifton for 52 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Flem J. Connell; and five brothers.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Tina Connell of Riverdale; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Alice and Everett Griner of Moultrie; a brother, Clifton Harrell of Ray City; three grandchildren, Julie Wise of Bluffton, S.C., Mitch and Joanne Britt of Shiloh, Alysia and Bobby Lambert of Chicago Heights, Ill.; two great-grandchildren, Matthew Wise and Bryce Britt; three stepgrandchildren, Angie Newsome, David Griner and Amy Griner; and three stepgreat-grandchildren, Trey and Cameron Newsome and Trent Griner.
Memorials may be made to the Church of the Nazarene Building Fund.

Marion Lincoln “Buddy” Jones
MOULTRIE — Marion Lincoln “Buddy” Jones, 81, of Moultrie died Monday, Sept. 9, 2002, in Moultrie.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12, at Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens with Elder C.A. Blanton officiating.
Born Jan. 27, 1921, in Colquitt County, Mr. Jones was the son of the late Claudia Wisham Jones and George Kiser Jones. He was a roofer with Jones Roofing Company and was a member of Bridge Creek Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army, receiving the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Winifred Tate Jones; brothers, Clarence Jones, Cleveland Jones, Jessie Jones, Lester Jones and Luther Jones; and sisters, Bertha J. Dunlap and Eva J. Singletary.
Survivors include several nephews; a niece; and a special friend, Mrs. Pinkie Tillman.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. tonight at the funeral chapel.
The family may be contacted at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Dunlap, 1305 Ninth St. S.W.

MOULTRIE — John T. Waldrop, 67, of Forest Apartments died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2002, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held in LaGrange.
