Gallie Jane Hinson Team

MOULTRIE — Gallie Jane Hinson Team, 95, of Moultrie died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Jan. 28, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Mike Horton and Keith Conley officiating. Burial will be in Zion Hope Cemetery in Tift County. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Born July 28, 1907, in Tift County, Mrs. Team was the daughter of the late Dollie Hobson Hinson and Dock Hinson. She was a shrimp peeler with Treasure Isle Ocean Products and was a member of the Moultrie Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Powell McCray Team; a son, Dennis Team; and two daughters, Sadie Brooks and Grace Veasey.

Survivors include her sons, Johnny Team of Cordele, Rev. W.J. Team of Jacksonville, Fla., Curtis Team of Ocilla, Clyde Team of Ona, W.V., J.T. Team of Beaver Falls, Penn., and Charles Team and Danny Team both of Mulberry, Fla.; her daughters, Geneva Boles of Soldotna, Ark., Carolyn Murzynski of Athens and Suzeann Bacon of Mulberry, Fla.; 36 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren.

Cobb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.



Amanda Jill Morris

NORMAN PARK — Amanda Jill Morris, 19, of Norman Park, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, in Colquitt County.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 28, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Paul Peace and Jimmy Voyles officiating. Burial will be in Oak Dale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cal Jones, John Kelcy, Brian Clark, Tim Pope, David L. Morris and Allen Morris.

Born Dec. 1, 1983, in Mecklenburg County, N.C., Miss Morris was the daughter of Kimberly Dunn Jones and David Lee Morris. She was a waitress at Kim’s Place in Norman Park and was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Mendal Morris and Clarence Jones.

Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Kimberly Dunn Jones and Bobby Jones of Norman Park; her father, David Lee Morris of Charlotte, N.C.; her fiance, Jeffrey Newell of Moultrie; sisters, Mary Lee Cannon of Moultrie and Sabrina Cheyenne Jones of Norman Park; a stepbrother, Cal Jones of Moultrie; a stepsister, Shanna Burga of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; her grandmothers, Mary Dunn of Richfield, N.C., Johnnie Morris of Charlotte, N.C., and Gladys Jones of Moultrie; and her grandfather, Glenn Dunn of Richfield, N.C.

Mary Agnes Miller

THOMASVILLE — Mary Agnes Miller, 86, of Thomasville, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003, in Coolidge.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29, at Harrell-Faircloth Funeral Home with the Rev. James Hancock officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Born March 12, 1916, in Colquitt County, Mrs. Miller was the daughter of the late George Silas Law and Effie Virginia Holland Law. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Jefferson Miller; four sons, Julius Thomas Miller, Kleeman Eugene Miller, Freddie Lanier Miller and Johnny Silas Miller; a grandson, Thomas Deide Miller; and two sisters, Bertha Mae Law and Janie Mae Stovall.

Survivors include a brother, James Summerlin Law of New York; two granddaughters, Christine Ann Ekert of Eastpoint, Fla. and Sharon Elizabeth Ansley of Coolidge; and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

Odel Spradley

MOULTRIE — Mr. Odel Spradley, formerly of Moultrie, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, at his residence in Englewood, N.J.

Arrangements will be announced by Luke Strong and Son Mortuary.



Alma E. Rucker

ARDEN, N.C. — Alma E. Rucker, 84, of 2533 Hendersonville Road, Arden, N.C., died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003, at her residence.

Survivors include by two daughters, Elizabeth Rucker of Asheville, N.C. and Johanna Rucker of Tallahassee, Fla.; and five grandchildren.

Walter Alton Kelley

MOULTRIE — Walter Alton Kelley, 71, of Moultrie





died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Graveside services will be held at 4:30 p.m. today, Jan. 28, at Rose Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Ken Anderson officiating.

Born Feb. 28, 1931, in Colquitt County, Mr. Kelley was the son of the late Arrel Hunt Kelley and George E. Kelley. He was a retired farmer and a member of Colquitt County Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Austin Kelley and Alva Kelley; and sisters, Annie Mae Kelley and Kathleen Richter.

Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Wilkes Kelley of Moultrie; a brother, Cecil Kelley of Moultrie; and sisters, Geraldine Plymel and husband Paul of Moultrie, Hazel Norman of Morgan and Nettie Jewell “Peggy” Owen of Montevallo, Ala.

Visitation will be from 3-4 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Colquitt County Baptist Church Building Fund.

Francis John (Johnny) Mattic

MOULTRIE — Francis John (Johnny) Mattic, 81, of Moultrie died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003, at his residence.

Born Sept. 9, 1921, in Pittsburgh, Penn., Mr. Mattic was the son of the late Mary Fachko and John Mattic. He was a retired carpenter and was of the Catholic faith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in World War II.

Survivors include a son, Raymond Mattic of Naples, Fla.; a daughter, Felecia Gregory of Moultrie; and two grandsons, Anthony and Jack Gregory of Moultrie.

Patricia Ann Fort Ortiz

MOULTRIE — Patricia Ann Fort Ortiz, 52, of Moultrie died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, at her residence.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bill Patton officiating. Burial will be in Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be T.J. Wood, Robert Jolly, David Riley, Todd Johnson, Ronnie Baggett and Wayne McBryer.

Born Dec. 5, 1950, in Osceola County, Fla., Mrs. Ortiz was the daughter of Millard Fort and the late Sarah Louise Padgett Fort. She was the bakery manager at Wal-Mart and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her father, Millard Fort of Moultrie; daughters, Anglea Himes of Warrenton, Mo., Patricia Wood of Illsheim, Germany, and Kara Maciariello of Stillwater, N.Y.; a brother, Jerry Fort of Moultrie; a sister, Paula Collins of Orlando, Fla.; and seven grandchildren, D.J. McIntyre, Mark McIntyre, Katlin Himes, Alannah Moore, Alexis Himes, Zachary Wood and Noah Wood.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. tonight at the funeral chapel.

Jimmie R. Dennis

MOULTRIE — Mrs. Jimmie R. Dennis, 94, of Moultrie died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 30, at Luke Strong and Son Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. E.H. Hopkins officiating. Burial will be in St. James Pallbearers Cemetery #2. Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers.

Born May 14, 1908, in Ben Hill County, Mrs. Dennis was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Rodgers. She was a retired dean supervisor and was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Dennis; a daughter, Wilma Jordan; and a son-in-law, Harvest Jordan Sr.

Survivors include a grandson, Harvest Jordan Jr. of Moultrie; great-grandchildren, Monique and Monica Tripp of Moultrie; and a host of other relatives and friends.
