Cherise Gray Lindsey

NORMAN PARK — Cherise Gray Lindsey, 40, of Norman Park died Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Fla.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, at Weeks Chapel Methodist Church with the Revs. Dan Robinson and Ronald Barrett officiating. Burial will be in Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Chris Hunnicutt, Ben Broomberg, Ernest Hunnicutt, Todd Lindsey, Kevin Kirkland, Mark Jackson, Jimmy Thompson, Ronald Baker, Mike Lindsey, Dean Hamner and Lindsey Willis.

Born Jan. 20, 1964, in Cook County, Ms. Lindsey was the daughter of Merle Gray Lindsey and Charlie Lindsey Jr. She was co-manager of Lindsey’s Grocery and was a member of Weeks Chapel Methodist Church.

Survivors include her son, Kohle Lindsey Hargraves of Norman Park; her parents, Merle Gray Lindsey and Charlie Lindsey Jr. of Norman Park; two brothers, Trey Lindsey and wife Rena and Keith Lindsey and wife Crystal, all of Norman Park; a sister, Sandi Martin and husband Victor of Norman Park; her mother-in-law, Betty Hargraves; and nieces and nephews, Dwan, Hunter and Ben Broomberg of Valdosta, and Adrean, Kaid and Dusty Carrol, Daniel Wall, Leah, Chay and Summer Lindsey, and Deston and Skylar Lindsey, all of Norman Park.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

Baker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.



Geraldine Doris Hiers

MOULTRIE — Geraldine Doris Hiers, 65, of Moultrie died Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Arrangements will be announced by Baker Funeral Home.



Mary Rogers Murphy

MOULTRIE — Mary Rogers Murphy, 81, of Moultrie died Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, at her family residence.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, at Midway Freewill Baptist Church with the Revs. Tom Teate and Randy Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Midway Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Teate, Brent Gunter, Ryan Will, Trevor Bartlett, Jared Gay and Keith Murphy.

Born Sept. 3, 1922, in Montgomery County, Mrs. Murphy was the daughter of the late Ruth Thompson Rogers and M.A. Rogers. She was a homemaker and a member of Midway Freewill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Edward Murphy.

Survivors include two sons, Roger Murphy and wife Lori of Gainesville, Ga., and John Murphy and wife Tequilla of Moultrie; two daughters, Bonnie Eusner and husband Paul of Ashland, Ky., and Myra Teate and husband Tom of Vienna; three brothers, Bob Rogers of Martinez, Cloyd Rogers of Lithonia and Tom Rogers of Moultrie; five sisters, Louise Strickland, Ruth Broome and Betty Taylor, all of Moultrie, Peggy Price of Tallahassee and Nell Jay of Marietta; nine grandchildren, Georgia Eusner Will, Jared Gay, Heather Teate Bartlett, Erin Eusner, Hutton Murphy, John Teate, Matt Eusner, Shelley Teate Gunter and Monica Murphy; and two great-grandchildren, Elley Brooke Gunter and Brenley Grace Gunter.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. tonight at the funeral chapel.

Herring Cole

MOULTRIE — Herring Cole, 73, of Moultrie died Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, at Temple Baptist Church with the Revs. Terry Webb and Phillip Robinson officiating.

Born Dec. 2, 1930, in Rockmart, Polk County, Ga., Mr. Herring was the son of the late Pearl Hollis Cole and Con L. Cole. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the American Legion and the Georgia PGA. Mr. Cole was a golf pro since he returned to Georgia in 1968. He was a pro at Savannah Inn, Cannon Gate in Palmetto, Sunset Country Club for 19 years, the Marine Corps. Logistics Base in Albany and Circle Stone in Adel. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Karen McGrady Cole of Moultrie; two sons, Conn H. Cole and wife Trudy of Norman Park, Stephen M. Cole of Moultrie; two brothers, Ray Cole and wife Susan of Fayetteville and Edsel Cole and wife Ginny of Barnesville; a sister, Carolyn Burell of Rockmart; three grandchildren, Suzanne Hinson, Dylan Cole and Nicholas Cole; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will follow the memorial service.

Memorials should be made to the American Cancer Society or Georgia Junior Gold Foundation, 1021 Thornwell Court, Athens, Ga. 30606.

MOULTRIE — Gary Dean Raffield, 53, 200 Mark Lane, Piney Grove Subdivision, Moultrie, died Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, at his residence.
