Ruth Bostian Hughes
MICAVILLE, N.C. — Ruth Bostian Hughes, 84, of Micaville, N.C. died Thursday, March 13, 2003, at Sunrise Nursing Home.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Hugh Ward officiating.
Born Dec. 30, 1918, in Knoxville, Tenn., Mrs. Hughes was the daughter of the late Mollie Fuller Bostian and Floyd Bostian. She was a retired postmaster, having serving Micaville, N.C. for 31 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Burnsville, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Clarence Hughes, and two brothers, Ralph Bostian and Floyd P. Bostian.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Herndon and husband Bob of Moultrie; a brother, Walter H. Bostian and wife Doris of Toms River, N.J.; a sister, Louise Ward of Owensboro, Ky.; a grandson, Robert Herndon Jr. and wife Jennifer; three great-grandchildren, Bryce, Tanner and Peyton Herndon; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.

Lillie Bell Sumner Hannon
MOULTRIE — Lillie Bell Sumner Hannon, 103, of Moultrie, died Sunday, March 30, 2003 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 2, at Memorial Baptist Church with the Revs. Jim Soles and Neal Hager officiating. Burial will be in Pinecrest Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Brendon Hannon, Kenneth Hannon, Billy Sumner, John Cox, Sonny Gregory and Arnold Thomas.
Born Aug. 30, 1899, in Tift County, Mrs. Hannon was the daughter of the late Mattie Sumner and William Riley Sumner. She was a homemaker and was a member of Memorial Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Chapman Hannon.
Survivors include her son, Jimmy Lee Hannon and wife Ann of Camilla; a sister, Ethel Gregory of Moultrie; two grandchildren, Brendon Hannon and wife Vickie of Valdosta and Loree Cox and husband John of Sylvester; and four great-grandchildren, Lauren Cox, Jordan Cox, Lindsay Hannon and Luke Hannon.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. tonight at the funeral chapel.

Ray Burnett Wilhoit
MOULTRIE — Ray Burnett Wilhoit, 85, of Moultrie, formerly of Atlanta, died Saturday, March 29, 2003, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. today at Greenlawn Cemetery in Roswell.
Survivors include four sons, Jack Wilhoit, Matthew Wilhoit, Tim Wilhoit and Ray Wilhoit Jr.; a daughter, Patti Perry of Moultrie; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Sara Louise Braswell
MOULTRIE — Sara Louise Braswell, 90, of Moultrie died Sunday, March 30, 2003 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, at Harrell-Faircloth Chapel with the Rev. Paul Peace officiating. Burial will be in Midway Church Cemetery, just south of Meigs in Thomas County. Her nephews, Rodney Braswell, Ken Braswell, Floyd Braswell, Steve Braswell, William Braswell and Craig Braswell, will serve as pallbearers.
Born Oct. 18, 1912, in Thomas County, Miss Braswell was the daughter of the late Harriet Freeman Braswell and Uriah Kindred Braswell. She was a retired elementary school teacher, having taught in Funston and Albany. She was a member of Oak Dale Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Uriah, A.J., Abel, Dorsey and James Braswell, and a sister, Martha Suber.
Survivors include two brothers, Calvin and Martha Braswell and Larry and Lucene Braswell, all of Moultrie; and 14 nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Neta Belle Scarboro
MOULTRIE — Neta Belle Scarboro, 101, of Moultrie died Saturday, March 29, 2003 in North Carolina.

Hansford A. Miley Jr.
BERLIN — Hansford A. Miley Jr., 95, of Berlin, died Monday, March 31, 2003, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center
Services will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 2, at Harrell-Faircloth Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pinecrest Memory Gardens.
Born June 15, 1907, in Lowndes Country, Mr. Miley was the son of the late Hansford A. Miley Sr. and Georgia Ann Mercer Miley. He was a retired mechanic with the Colquitt County School System. Mr. Miley was a member of the Church of Christ and was a member of the Masons.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lucile Heath Miley.
Survivors include a nephew, George E. Heath, and two nieces, Peggy Miley Dampier and Brenda Miley Oliff.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
