George Ralph Shiver
CAIRO — George Ralph Shiver, 67, of Cairo died Monday, Oct. 28, 2002, at Archbold Memorial Hospital.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., today, Oct. 30, at Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home with the Revs. W.J. Plymel and Gus Turner officiating. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Benton, Matt Thigpen, Billy Benton, Ronnie Brown, Joe Lewis and Junior Newell.
Born May 1, 1935, in Colquitt County, Mr. Shiver was the son of the late Green Jackson Shiver and Leacy Luke Shiver. He married Margaret (Margie) Brown Shiver, who survives, on March 2, 1980 in Folkston. He was a truck driver with Canada Dry, a veteran of the U.S. Navy during Korea, was a member of DAV, and was a member of Newark Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret (Margie) Brown Shiver of Cairo; sons, Andy Lancaster of Thomasville and Channing Shiver of Whigham; a stepson, Troy Franklin Barnard of Thomasville; stepdaughters, Deborah Kay Bass and Janet Walker both of Tallahassee; a brother and sister-in-law, Preston and Marta Shiver of Valdosta; sisters, Joyce Willis of Cairo, Polly Pauline Benton, Betty Benton and Linda Holland, all of Thomasville, Ruth Christine Dean of Camilla, Erline Register and husband Hubert of Ochlocknee; a grandchild; seven step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild/
Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home in Thomasville is in charge of arrangements.

NORMAN PARK — Juanita Dorminey, 88, of Norman Park, died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2002, at her residence.
