Johnny Lee Miller Jr.

ELLENTON — Johnny Lee Miller Jr., 42, of Ellenton died Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at his residence.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, at Ellenton Baptist Church with the Revs. Bill Vaughn and Keith Bryan officiating. Burial will be in Leila Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joshua Bishop, Mike Lindsey, Fred Camp, Jerry Camp, Kelvin Chitty, and Donnie Folsom.

Born Sept. 15, 1960, in Cook County, Mr. Miller was the son of Lorette Chaney Miller and the late Johnny Lee Miller Sr. He was a welding supervisor with Merritt Electricians of Lafeyette, La., and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Vickie Lynn Hampton Miller of Ellenton; sons, Johnny Lee Miller III, Garrett Spencer Miller and Matthew Dillon Miller, all of Ellenton; two daughters, Casey Danyell Miller and Traci Morgan Miller, both of Ellenton; his mother, Lorette Chaney Miller of Omega; three sisters, Johnette Miller of Cotton, Nancy Darlene Lindsey of Thomasville and Margie Miller of Moultrie; nieces and nephews, Brandy Bishop, Amy Strickland, Eugene Vaughn, Tory Lindsey and Tylor Lindsey; three great-nieces, Emily Blow, Madilyn Bishop and Elise Vaughn; and one great-nephew, Denver Vaughn.

Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. tonight at the funeral chapel.

James Edward Bowen Jr.

MADISON, Fla. — James Edward Bowen Jr., 49, of Madison, Fla., died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, in Madison.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, at New Testament Christian Church in Madison. Burial will follow in Corinth Cemetery in Lee, Fla.

Mr. Bowen was a native and lifelong resident of Madison County, Fla. He was a maintenance mechanic leaderman for P.C.S. Phosphate Mines in Hamilton County. He was also owner-operator of Edward Bowen Welding Services in Madison. He was a member of New Testament Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Teri Bowen of Madison; three daughters, Melanie Welch, Tiffani Bowen and Taylor Bowen, all of Madison; his mother, Betty Bowen of Lee, Fla.; two brothers, Elmer Bowen of Lake Park, Ga., and Donald Bowen of Lee, Fla.; a sister, Bonnie Bowen of Madison; and two grandchildren, Kira Welch and Shania Bryant, both of Madison.

The family will receive friends after the service.

Hall Nathaniel Nicholson

ELLENTON — Hall Nathaniel Nicholson, 85, of Ellenton died Thursday, April 3, 2003, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today, April 4, at Weeks Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Dan Robinson officiating.

Born Aug. 26, 1917, in Colquitt County, Mr. Nicholson was the son of the late Mattie NeSmith Nicholson and Hubert Daniel Nicholson. He was retired from maintenance of Cope Rendering Company. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a member of Weeks Chapel United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Mae Weeks Nicholson.

Survivors include two sons, Ray Nicholson of Norman Park and Dan Nicholson of Ellenton; two daughters, Patsy Pruett of Rex and Margaret Cooper of Ellenton; a sister, Virginia Wilkes of Moultrie; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1-1:45 p.m. today at the cemetery.

Nathaniel Wiley Jr.

COLUMBUS — Nathaniel Wiley Jr., 46, of Columbus, formerly of Moultrie, died Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at Central Alabama Veterans Hospital in Montgomery, Ala.

Arrangements will be announced by Strong Funeral Home.



Emma Mayella Greene

CLANTON, Ala. — Emma Mayella Greene, 70, of Clanton, Ala., formerly of Moultrie, died Thursday, April 3, 2003, at Briarcliff Nursing Home in Alabaster, Ala.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, at Moultrie Church of God with the Rev. David Davis officiating. Burial will be in Cool Springs Cemetery in Doerun. Pallbearers will be Luke Buckner, Doug Buckner, Mark Buckner, Arnold Buckner, Leon Buckner and James Buckner. Clyde Hurst will be an honorary pallbearer.

Born April 17, 1932, in Bradley County, Tenn., Mrs. Greene was the daughter of the late Elsie Watson Buckner and M.C. Buckner. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Moultrie Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren E. Greene, and a son, Kenneth David Greene.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda F. Costes and husband Andre of Clanton, Ala.; three brothers, Eugene Buckner, Raymond Buckner and Truman Buckner, all of Hartsfield; a sister, Ann B. Black of Hartsfield; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. tonight at the funeral chapel.
