Kay (Kayla) Louise Redfearn Demott
CAMILLA — Kay (Kayla) Louise Redfearn Demott, 40, of Camilla died Thursday, March 20, 2003, in Mitchell County due to injuries received as the result of a tornado.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 23, at Salem Baptist Church with the Revs. Winston Baker and Joe Dunn officiating. Burial will be in Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Mike Sbarra, Mark Sbarra, Lindsay Fallin, John Bass, Stanley Bass and Ralph Brady.
Born Jan. 26, 1963, in Thomas County, Mrs. Demott was the daughter of Jack Milton Redfearn Sr. and Elsie Hunter Redfearn and the late Marjorie Lanelle Williams Redfearn. She was a homemaker and was of the Assembly of God faith.
Survivors include her husband Thomas (Tommy) Preston Demott Jr. of Camilla; her parents, Jack Milton Redfearn Sr. and Elsie Hunter Redfearn of Pavo; two daughters, Anna Marie Hunley and Stephanie Lynn Demott, both of Warner Robins; brothers, Ronald J. Croft and wife Charman of Coolidge, Danny R. Croft and wife Donna of Pavo, the Rev. Jack Redfearn Jr. and wife Lisa of Hartselle, Ala.; and sisters, Cathy A. Brady and husband Ralph of Ochlocknee, Cindy Kelley and husband Greg of Thomasville, Teresa Peters and husband Mickey and Charlotte Vinson, all of Boston.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. tonight at the funeral chapel.

Frances Norwood
MOULTRIE — Mrs. Frances Norwood, 102, of Moultrie died Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at Magnolia Manor South Nursing Center.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. today, March 22, at Mother Easter Baptist Church with the Rev. Emory Hopkins, Supt. Paul Hayes and the Rev. J.W. Greene officiating. Burial will be in St. James Pallbearers Cemetery No. 2. Pallbearers will be the deacons of Mother Easter Baptist Church.
Born March 19, 1901, in Jones County, Mrs. Norwood was the daughter of the late Emanuel Dobson and Janie Dobson. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include three nieces, Mrs. Ruthie Lee Revill and husband Elder William Revill and Mrs. Mary L. Sampson, both of Moultrie, and Mrs. Mae Frances Jones of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Anna Dobson and Mrs. Rosie Lee West of Jacksonville, Fla.; a great-niece, Belinda Gail Hicks of Moultrie; four great-nephews, John E. Dobson, Kyle D. Hicks, Jordan T. Hicks and Bill Hicks; and a host of other great-nieces and nephews.

Steve R. Causey
SYLVESTER — Steve R. Causey, 50, of 113 Causey Road, Doerun, died Thursday, March 20, 2003, at his residence due to injuries received as the result of a storm.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Liberty Hill Baptist Church with interment in Evergreen Cemetery. The Rev. Preston Wilson will officiate.
Born Sept. 7, 1952, Mr. Causey had lived in Worth County since May 2002, moving from Lakeland, Fla. He was a former municipal employee with the City of Lakeland, Fla., and was currently employed with Carlstedt’s of Albany. He was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church.
Mr. Causey was preceded in death by his father, George Cefus Causey, and a brother, Jimmy G. Causey.
Survivors include three children, Stephanie Renee Causey, Steve R. Causey Jr. and their mother, Peggy Causey, all of Lakeland, Fla., and Megan Causey, also of Lakeland; a sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Kenny Monk of Valdosta; brothers and sisters-in-law, James W. and Shirley Causey of Lee County, Donnie W. and Pat Causey of Warwick, and Rick and Melissa Causey of Albany; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

Edna Lightfoot Causey
SYLVESTER — Edna Lightfoot Causey, 77, of 113 Causey Road, Doerun, died Thursday, March 20, 2003, at her residence due to injuries received as the result of a storm.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Liberty Hill Baptist Church with interment in Evergreen Cemetery. The Rev. Preston Wilson will officiate.
Born July 18, 1925, in Gadsden County, Fla., Mrs. Causey had lived in Worth County most of her life. She was formerly employed with Tad’s Sportswear in Doerun. She was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church where she was the prayer coordinator, member of the choir and the WMU Quilting Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Benjamin Lightfoot and Addie Belle Whittington Lightfoot; her husband, George C. Causey; a son, Jimmy G. Causey; and a sister, Elma Brown.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Kenny Monk of Valdosta; sons and daughters-in-law, James W. and Shirley Causey of Lee County, Donnie W. and Pat Causey of Warwick, and Rick and Melissa Causey of Albany; brothers and spouses, the Rev. Lee Roy “Bill” Lightfoot and his wife Ellender, described as Mrs. Causey’s best friend, of Doerun, and Marvin and Arcie Lightfoot of Doerun; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

Ruby Corrine Dunn Pierce Powell
NAUVOO, Ill. — Ruby Corrine Dunn Pierce Powell, 90, a native of Coolidge, died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at her home in Nauvoo.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 20, at Latter Day Saints Nauvoo First Ward Chapel with Bishop Merlin Reittinger officiating. Burial was in Nauvoo City Cemetery.
Born Oct. 1, 1912, in Coolidge, Mrs. Powell was the daughter of the late Marvin and Mary Etta Daniel Dunn. She attended school at Moultrie High School. She married Walter H. Pierce, was widowed at 24 with two children, and opened a restaurant. On Dec. 10, 1938, she married Ernest Powell. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Powell was well known for her sewing and upholstery work. She was also skilled with gardening and flower arrangements.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, and a son, Jerry Powell.
Survivors include two daughters, Wanda Pierce (and Del Mar) Bastian of Sonoma, Calif., and Betti Jo (and Jerry) McLeod of Nauvoo, Ill.; four sons, Walter H. (and Marlene) Pierce of Georgia, Terry (and Jacki) Powell of Nauvoo, Ill., and Kent (and Jane) Powell of Burlington, Ind.; a sister, Mildred Barlow of Moultrie; 34 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Nauvoo Lions Club or Lee County Hospice of Ft. Madison, Iowa.

Constance Willoughby
MOULTRIE — Mrs. Constance Willoughby, 65, of Moultrie died Friday, March 21, 2003, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 24, at Luke Strong and Son Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. John Boatwright officiating. Burial will be in St. James Pallbearers Cemetery No. 2. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Born May 14, 1937, in Portland, Jamaica, Mrs. Willoughby is survived by her faithful husband John Willoughby of Moultrie; a daughter, Angela Lewis-Shakes and husband Leord J. Shakes; and a grandson, Leord O. Shakes all of Hartford, Conn.
