Helen Ruth Freeman
MOULTRIE — Helen Ruth Freeman, 62, of 270 Trailer Park Road, died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, at her residence.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, at Southside Baptist Church with burial at Southside Cemetery. The Rev. Tim VanLandingham and the Rev. Phillip Robinson will officiate. Nephews will serve as casketbearers.
Mrs. Freeman was born Aug. 1, 1941, in Colquitt County to Ethel Eason Weeks and the late Iris Cline Weeks. She was a Baptist and worked for several years at Norman Baptist Assembly.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Ray Freeman; her mother, Ethel Eason Weeks; two sons, Kenneth Allen Freeman and wife Tammy, and Terry Ray Freeman, all of Moultrie; one daughter, Tresia Lynn Mercer and husband Mike of Moultrie; two brothers, Jackie Weeks of Jacksonville and David Weeks of Moultrie; sister-in-law, Ann Weeks of Moultrie; sisters, Marie Guertin and husband Medric of New York, Maudie Fletcher of Moultrie, Eleanor Depese and husband Richard of Jacksonville and Sara Nell Crosby and husband Jimmy of Moultrie; grandchildren, Amber Freeman, Brice Mercer, Lark Mercer and Lakin Mercer; and two best friends, Bobbi Barker and Judy Murphy.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Wendell Weeks and Ronduf Weeks, and a sister, Betty Jean Weeks.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25, at Baker Funeral Home.

Rachel T. McCastle
MOULTRIE — Visitation will be 7-8 p.m. today, Aug. 24, for Rachel T. McCastle, 73, 1000 Third St. N.W., who died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003.
Services will be held at noon on Monday, Aug. 25, at Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. Leroy Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Strong Memorial Garden.
Luke Strong and Son Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
John H. Bius
MOULTRIE — John H. Bius, 76, of 917 Barbara Circle, died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25, at First Baptist Church with burial in Rose of Sharon Cemetery. The Rev. J.E. Moak and the Rev. Roger Benton will officiate.
Mr. Bius was born March 29, 1927, in Worth County to Jake Bius and Minona Hortman Bius, both deceased. He graduated as valedictorian of Doerun High School’s Class of 1943. He graduated from Southern College of Pharmacy in Atlanta. He was a pharmacist for Walgreen for 30 years and owned Bius Rexall Drugs in Live Oak, Fla. He returned to Moultrie to reside in 1991, and he was a member of First Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Ivey Bius, and two brothers, Vernon and Albert Bius.
Survivors include two sons, David Bius and wife Kandy and Tim Bius and wife Misty; two daughters, Cindy Appleman and husband Glenn of Jacksonville, Fla., and Joanna Grice and husband Mark of Crestview, Fla.; two brothers, Tom Sizemore and wife Wilma of Toccoa and Jake Bius and wife Betty of Beverly Hills, Fla.; three sisters, Wilma Beverly, Julia Lastinger and Winona Herbik, all of Moultrie; three sisters-in-law, Merle Bius of Moultrie, Gloria Bius of Stone Mountain and Thelma Johnson of Live Oak, Fla.; and grandchildren, Alana, Dillon and Grant Appleman, Ashley, John and Hayley Grice, Matthew and David Bius, Danielle Grace, and Justin and Parker Johnson.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today, Aug. 24, at Harrell Faircloth Funeral Home.
