Tom Anderson Strickland

SNEADS, Fla. — Tom Anderson Strickland, 80, of Sneads, Fla., died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, at Emmanuel Holiness Church in Sneads, followed by burial in Emmanuel Cemetery.

A native of Moultrie, Mr. Strickland had lived in the Sneads area for 33 years. He was a retired tractor mechanic with Whitehill Equipment Company in Tallahassee. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II. Mr. Strickland was a foster parent for 15 years and was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness faith.

Survivors include his wife, Bessie E. Strickland of Sneads; two daughters, Vanessa Powell and Vicki Baxter, both of Sneads; four sons, Allen Strickland of Jacksonville, Fla., Terry Powell of Marianna, Fla., Greg Strickland of Paxton, Fla., and Kenny Strickland of Kitzigen, Germany; four sisters, Ruth Whittle, Margie Autrey and Sara McDaniel, all of Moultrie, and Mary Jean Young of Dothan, Ala.; three brothers, Floyd Strickland of Moultrie, Jerry Strickland of Doerun, and Joe Strickland of Havana, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Lanier-Andler Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.



Edna H. Cooper

NORMAN PARK — Edna H. Cooper, 88, of Norman Park died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, at her residence.

Arrangements will be announced by Cobb Funeral Chapel.



Willie Saturday Jr.

MOULTRIE — Willie Saturday Jr., 77, of Moultrie died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mike Farmer officiating. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Shelley Cook, Herman Wimberly, Van Dexter, D.G. Graves, Jimmy Hiers and Herman Busby.

Born Jan. 21, 1927, in Moultrie, Mr. Saturday was the son of the late Lucy Jones Saturday and William Saturday. He was a retired businessman and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Moultrie.

He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Michael Saturday; three brothers, Robert L. Saturday, William Monroe Saturday and William Mitchell Saturday; and a sister, Lorene Saturday Taylor.

Survivors include his wife, Hilda Kent Saturday of Moultrie; two sons, Tommy Davis Saturday, Robert Randall Saturday and wife Carol, all of Moultrie; and three grandchildren, Christopher Kent Saturday, Benjamin Mark Saturday and Kimberly Joy Saturday.

Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. tonight at the funeral chapel.

The family may be contacted at the home of Randy and Carol Saturday, 1928 Magnolia Ave., or the home of David Saturday, 2504 Jacqueline Circle.

Jewel Tyler Moser

MOULTRIE — Jewel Tyler Moser, 71, of Moultrie died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, at her residence.

Services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, at Harrell-Faircloth Funeral Home with the Rev. J.E. Moak officiating. Burial will be in Pinecrest Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Rob Craft, Larry Kleitz, Jimmy Spires, Roy Gandy, Ricky Willis and Kenny Pope.

Born July 23, 1932, in Boston, Ga., Mrs. Moser was the daughter of Lilla Brown Tyler and the late Gordon L. Tyler. She was retired from General Telephone and was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Tommy Lee Tyler.

Survivors include her husband, Floyd Pierce Moser Sr. of Moultrie; her mother, Lilla Brown Tyler of Moultrie; sons, Floyd P. Moser Jr. and wife Dana of Valdosta, David E. Moser and wife Paula of Doerun, Gordon L. Moser and wife Kathy of Moultrie and Wendal A. Moser of Moultrie; nine grandchildren, Thomas D. Moser and wife Katharine, Joel S. Moser, Michelle Moser, Jeremy Todd Moser, Julie Moser Craft and husband Rob, Kelli L. Moser, Tyler Moser, Kristie Moser and Angel Johnston; and one great-grandchild, Hannah L. Moser.

Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
