O’Dell Davis

MOULTRIE — O’Dell Davis, 60, of Moultrie died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at St. Mary’s Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Fredrick Davis officiating. Burial will be in Strong Memorial Garden. Pallbearers will be Ronald Carr, T.C. Moore, Willie James Lard, Johnny Moore, Willie Jamerson Jr. and Arthur Davis Jr.

Born March 14, 1943, in Louisville, Miss., Mr. Davis was the son of the late Curtis and Jennie Williams Davis. He was a saw mill worker and was a member of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include four sisters, Mary Shields of Meridian, Miss., Nancy Lard and husband Bobby Leggett, Pauline Davis, all of Moultrie, and Dorothy D. Glenn and husband George Glenn of South Mills, N.C.; five brothers, Curtis Davis Jr. and wife Joan Daivs of Louisville, Miss., Excell Davis of Moultrie, J.C. Davis and wife Rose Mary of Nichols, Arthur M. Davis and wife Mary Davis of Moultrie, Raford Davis of Saginaw, Mich.; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

Hansel L. (H.L.) Tillman

MOULTRIE — Hansel L. (H.L.) Tillman, 64, of Moultrie died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004, at his residence.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at China Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Baker, Alan Tillman and Ricky Griner officiating. Burial will be in China Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kevin Faulkner, Craig Faulkner, Ralph Hall Jr., Ronnie Moore, Scott Keith and Kenny Croft.

Born May 6, 1939, in Colquitt County, Mr. Tillman was the son of the late Ethel Lorene Tillman and Carlie L. Tillman. He was a farmer and was a member of China Grove Baptist Church, where he was an inactive deacon and taught Sunday school for many years. He also served on several church committees.

Survivors include his wife, Caroline Motes Tillman; sons, Jeffery Lunceford and wife Leisha of Moultrie, Jason Hansel Tillman and wife Tammy of Valdosta; a brother, Carl W. Tillman (Little) of Moultrie; sisters, Ruby Moore and husband Paul of Moultrie, Elvenia Griffin and husband Charlie of Adel, Eunice Hall and husband Ralph of Moultrie, and Margie Keith and husband Bill of Moultrie; and four grandchildren, Shawn Lunceford and Sarah Lunceford, both of Moultrie, Brittany Garrison and Chason H. Tillman, both of Valdosta.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mary Dean Tolbert

NEWARK, N.J. — Mary Dean Tolbert, 51, died Jan. 11, 2004, at Beth Isreal Medical Center in Newark, N.J.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in East Orange, N.J., with the Rev. Russell Fox officiating. Burial was in Fairmount Crematory, Newark, N.J.

Born Feb. 1, 1952, in Colquitt County, Ms. Tolbert was the daughter of Louise Lewis and the late Evan Lewis Sr.

Survivors include her mother, Louise Lewis of Moultrie; two daughters, Charmain D. Lewis of Jersey City, N.J., and Kimberly Tolbert of Hillside, N.J.; nine sisters and four brothers, Evans Lewis Jr. of Atlanta, Juanita Roberts of Irvington, N.J., Thelma Langley of Greenville, S.C., Willie Lewis of Moultrie, Nehemiah Lewis of Newark, N.J., Linda Lewis, Olivia McBride, Cassandra Williams, Stephanie Lewis and Sylvia Lewis, all of Moultrie, Judy Lewis of Atlanta, Juliet Lewis and Ronald Lewis, both of Moultrie; a close family friend, Arlene Davis; and a host of nieces, nephes andfriends.

Nettie Lee ‘Panky’ Tatum Richardson

MOULTRIE — Nettie Lee “Panky” Tatum Richardson, 79, of Moultrie died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at Mother Easter Baptist Church with the Rev. Frank Williams officiating. Burial will be held in St. James Pallbearers Cemetery No. 2. Pallbearers will be Steve Reynolds, Edward Little, Tony Murphy, Cecil Flemming, Issac Tatum and Eddie Flournoy.

Born March 27, 1924, in Marion County, Mrs. Richardson was the daughter of the late Irwin and Nettie Smith Tatum. She was married to the late Elijah Richardson Sr. and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanette Richardson; two sons, Claude Richardson and Leroy Richardson; a sister; and three brothers.

Survivors include six sons, Elijah Richardson Jr. of Daytona Beach, Fla., Eugene Richardson Sr. (Mae) of Lauderdale Lake, Fla., Melvin Richardson (Denise) of Miami, Fla., Calvin Richardson Sr. (Alberta) of Moultrie, Isaac Scott (Karell) and Larry Richardson, both of Moultrie; three daughters, Rose Mae Bell of Miami, Fla., Debra Richardson of Newark, N.J., and Angela Richardson of Knoxville, Tenn.; a brother, Irvin Tatum Jr. of Moultrie; a sister, Jimmie Williams of Rivera Beach, Fla.; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Birdia Johnson of Hudson, N.Y., and Mrs. Evadell Richardson of Doerun; a devoted granddaughter, Gwendolyn Richardson of Moultrie; 31 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held 7-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Willie Saturday Jr.

MOULTRIE — Willie Saturday Jr., 77, of Moultrie died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Arrangements will announced by Cobb Funeral Chapel.



Rowema Allen Potter

THOMASVILLE — Rowema Allen Potter, 74, of Thomasville died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004, at Archbold Memorial Hospital.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 7, at the First Church of the Nazerene with the Rev. Bill Hamby officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Born Jan. 11, 1930, in Moultrie, Mrs. Potter was the daughter of the late William Claud Allen and Grace Viola Davis. She was the wife of the late Williford Potter to whom she married on March 28, 1950. Mrs. Potter was a retired paraprofessional for the Thomasville City School System and a member of the Nazarene Church.

Survivors include Luther Potter of Bartow, Fla., Eugene Potter of Carrollton, and Myrl Potter of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, W.C. Allen of of Bradenton, Fla., Wesley Allen of Moultrie and Ronald Allen of Lawrenceville; and sisters, Frances Allen of Thomasville and Claudene McCranie of Thomasville; nieces, Elizabeth Stephens of Tallahassee and Ina Delorme of Cape Coral, Fla.
