Edward Swift Flowers
DOERUN — Edward Swift Flowers, 86, of Highway 133 North, Doerun, died Tuesday, June 18, 2002, at Mitchell County Convalescence Center.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 21, at Grace Baptist Church, Doerun, with the Rev. Milford Stanley and Dr. Steve E. Batts officiating. Burial will be in Doerun Cemetery. His grandsons will serve as casketbearers, and honorary casketbearers will be members of the Doerun American Legion.
Mr. Flowers was born Oct. 26, 1915, in Terrell County to the late Addie Pinkston Flowers and the late Waylon Smedley Flowers. He was an accountant in the Civil Service. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Doerun, where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher and RA leader.
He served in the 91st Bomb Group of the 8th Air Force during World War II. He was stationed in England and flew 35 missions as a gunner. He received the European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with Four Bronze Stars, the Purple Heart and the Air Medal with Five Oakleaf Clusters.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Edge Flowers of Doerun; two sons, Charles Edward Flowers of Moultrie and Joe Pinkston Flowers and wife Kim of Kingman, Ariz.; one daughter, Nancy Flowers Grantham and husband Doyle of Doerun; a son-in-law, Patrick McGuirt of Doerun; a sister, Betty Flowers Parnalee of Parrott; grandchildren, Matt McGuirt, Michael McGuirt and wife Wendy, Will Grantham and wife Jill, Josh Grantham and wife Misty, Lane Flowers Coker and husband Jim, Cliff Flowers, Lennie Flowers, Sam Flowers and Wes Flowers; and great-grandchildren, Mallory McGuirt and Dustin and Deven Coker.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Flowers McGuirt.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Louise Allman Paul
MOULTRIE — Louise Allman Paul, 65, of Kendallwood Drive, Moultrie, died Wednesday, June 19, 2002, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 21, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with burial at Westview Cemetery. The Rev. Ralph Harrell will officiate. Casketbearers will be Edwin Hortman, Tommy Rabon, Bob Roberson, Steve Massey Sr., Eugene Massey and William Paul Boyd.
Mrs. Paul was born Feb. 22, 1937, in Colquitt County to the late Curtice Price Allman and the late John Relford Allman. She was office manager of Bob Roberson and Associates Inc. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. “Bill” Paul.
Survivors include one son, Cody Paul of Moultrie; one daughter, Jeana Rodriguez and husband Marcial of Moultrie; one sister, Lougenia Allman Massey of Sylvester; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
