Moultrian faces murder conspiracy indictment

MOULTRIE — A Colquitt County grand jury has indicted a Moultrie man after he allegedly tried to have his wife killed.

John Cleve Sexton, 27, 435 30th St. S.E., is facing charges for conspiracy to commit murder for allegedly planning to kill his wife with medical syringes in June 2002, one count criminal attempt to commit murder, aggravated stalking and terroristic threats, court records said.

Records indicate patterns of violence and drug use in the household. Sexton admitted to The Observer that he and a friend had discussed murdering his wife, but that it was all just talk.

Others indicted were:

Frances Sanchez, 18, 182 Edwards St., one count cruelty to children. Sanchez allegedly willfully neglected to take her five-month-old child to a doctor after her release from a hospital, as instructed, and failed to give her baby medication provided her by the hospital that allegedly led to the death of the infant in fall 2001.

Thomas Lamar Griffin, address unknown, and Milton Paul Bryan, 32, Omega, one count each theft by taking for allegedly stealing anhydrous ammonia from Cabbage Ga. at Spence Field in July, criminal attempt to commit a crime of theft by taking and criminal trespass.

Tammy Renee Stripling, 33, 517 26th Ave. S.E., 21 counts of first degree forgery for allegedly forging checks totaling more than $2,860.

Edward A. Lenz, 35, Clearwater, Fla., one count burglary for allegedly breaking into Southeast Hide Company, 913 Second Ave., on July 4, 2002.

Nikeisha D. Smith, 21, 914 Seventh Ave. S.E., aggravated assault for an alleged attack on Stephanie King with a screwdriver May 11, 2002.

Julius M. Sesler, 20, 208 Fourth Ave. S.E., three counts obstruction of a law officer regarding an alleged incident occurring Aug. 26, 2002. While resisting arrest, Sesler allegedly hit an officer in the left eye, court documents said.

Kimberly Jane Conger, 39, 200 Brandy Dr., cruelty to children regarding an alleged incident June 14, 2002, during which Conger allegedly abandoned a nine-year-old child at Wal-Mart.

Patrina Evette Scott, 19,122 Seventh Ave. S.W., one count hindering the apprehension of a criminal and one count obstruction of a law officer for an alleged incident occurring Aug. 4, 2002.

Cardale White, 46, 1313 First Ave. N.W., three counts forgery.

Darrell C. Bozeman, 49, 3431 Moye Road, one count stalking and one count possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

David Dewayne Collins, 31, Quitman, one count first degree forgery.

Lisa L. McCook, 37, 588 Coolsprings Road, Norman Park, one count first degree forgery.

Freddie Gene Edmonds, 54, 604 First St. N.W., one count first degree forgery.

Bennie J. Thomas, 18, 1005 10th St. S.E., and Rashaan Lateefe Davis, 18, 901 Hillcrest Ave., one count each terroristic threats and one count each simple assault regarding an alleged incident occurring Aug. 15, 2001.

Milton David Barfield, 19, 424 Ninth St. N.W., one count aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon regarding an alleged incident occurring Aug. 9, 2002.

Sammarrio D. Conney, 20, 815 Sixth St. N.W., one count aggravated assault for an alleged incident with a handgun on July 5, 2002.

Mack Trimble Sr., 54, 615 First St. N.W., one count aggravated assault for allegedly beating a woman with a wooden stick July 8, 2002, and one count false imprisonment of the same person.

Cardale White, 1818 First Ave. N.W., one count burglary for allegedly breaking into a house on First Avenue Northwest July 21, 2002, one count burglary for allegedly breaking into Module Truck Systems, 2236 Sylvester Hwy. July 4, first degree forgery and two counts of theft by taking.

Derrick D. McBride, 717 Fourth St. N.W., theft by taking a motor vehicle, theft by receiving stolen property, theft by taking and obstruction of an officer for an alleged incident occurring June 25, 2002, at Wal-Mart parking lot.

Dexter Lynn Thomas, 34, 1005 10th St. S.E., one count criminal attempt of a felon to possess a firearm.

Terry P. Sauls Sr., 35, Albany, simple battery and obstruction of an officer for an alleged incident that occurred April 17.

Jeffery Wayne Clark, 35, Meigs, two counts theft by taking for allegedly stealing riding mowers from 676 Lower Meigs Road and 2002 Willingham Road in June.

Lynn Gay Morton, 34, 389 Cherokee Dr., theft by taking for allegedly stealing a platinum and diamond ring from an individual at 1087 Funston-Sigsbee Road in August.

Dexter Lynn Thomas, 34, address unknown, interference with government property for allegedly throwing a television against the wall at the jail July 22, 2002.

Ishmael Gonzales, 20, 1756 Hwy. 133 S., Ernesto Sifuentes, 16, 581 Big Bear Road, Jose Luis Aguilar, 17, 178 Cherry Ave., and Antonio Rivera, address unknown, were each indicted on one count interference with custody of a 15-year-old girl May 2002. Gonzales was additionally indicted on one count of escaping from law enforcement.

Letherrio D. Farrell, 24, 1205 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr., two counts obstruction of a law enforcement officer for an incident allegedly occurring June 11.
