MOULTRIE — The Colquitt County middle school golf team finished second in its final tournament of the season on Thursday, coming up three shots back of Tift County in the Lowndes Middle School Booster Tournament at Francis Lake Golf Club in Lake Park.

Colquitt County’s Clarke Hendrick was the low medalist with a 72, despite a triple bogey on 18.

Anna Leigh Keith had a 79, Billy Edwards an 85 and John Fordham and 89.

Colquitt shot a 325. Tift County was first with a 322.

Colquitt also got a 93 from A.J. Hood and a 92 from Davis Edwards.

Two Colquitt County middle school girls also played on Thursday, with Jaycee Eunice turning in a 118 and Katie Hargrove shooting a 138 in her first 18-hole match.

The middle school team loses only three players: Hendrick, Hood and Keith.

“I was very pleased with how we did this year,” coach Matt Key said.
