Car alarms awaken residents

Two Moultrie residents were awakened early Thursday morning by the sound of their car alarms. One of the residents turned the alarm off and returned to bed, but the other saw damage upon looking out his window.
Sammy Almond, of 11th Court Northwest, reported the first incident. An unknown person broke the passenger rear door window of his Ford Explorer. Reports said Almond heard the alarm, turned it off then went back to sleep. He found the damage as he was leaving for work around 5:30 a.m. Thursday. The damage to the vehicle was $75, reports said. Entry was not made into the vehicle.
Amber Thompson, of 30th Street Southeast, reported the other incident. An unknown person broke the driver’s door window of her Dodge Neon when the alarm went off.
Reports said Thompson looked outside her window after the alarm woke her and saw the damage, and a further check of the vehicle found no other damage.
Damage to the vehicle was estimated to be $200, reports said. Nothing was removed from inside the vehicle.
Other Incidents:
Ronnie Simpson, of West Central Avenue Northwest, reported an unknown person broke a rear door window and stole 2 10-inch Pyramid speakers, three Pioneer 6×9 speakers, a Boss 400 amplifier and a Pioneer CD player between 5 p.m. Wednesday and 5 a.m. Thursday. Damage and the total value of the stolen items was $925.
Wendell Sumner, of Crossland-Lenox Road, reported an unknown person stole a snub nose .32-caliber revolver from his residence while he was moving Monday. The value of the stolen revolver was unknown at the time of report.
Arrests:
Jerome Byron Mitchell, 35, of 704 First St. N.W., was charged Thursday with financial identity fraud.
A 14 year-old boy was charged Tuesday with being an unruly child and trespass.
Kayla Krysten Wood, 20, of 335 Resident St. S.W. in Pelham, was charged Wednesday with failure to maintain lane, driving without insurance, driving without a current plate, DUI, and using a license plate to misrepresent the identity of a vehicle.
Jerry Richard Snipes Jr., 30, of 37 Railroad St., was charged Tuesday with DUI, failure to maintain lane and an open container violation.
Gerard William Delellis, 22, of 701-E 26th Ave. S.E., was charged Wednesday with aggravated assault.
