More room for kids

Mt. Olive Baptist Church on Mt. Olive Church Road at Highway 37 East is growing. This new building will house a preschool and children’s education facility. Measuring more than 10,000 square feet, the building is scheduled to be finished this summer, according to Mt. Olive’s pastor, the Rev. Andy Cashwell. It will include classrooms, plenty of restroom facilities and a large lobby for a gathering place. ‘This will make room for our adult Sunday school classes as well,’ Cashwell said, indicating the adults would spread into the area now housing the children’s programs.

    Dear editor:
Wildlife rehabilitators, or rehabbers as they are known in the animal community, are very special people. They have acquired the knowledge and experience that is needed to work with injured and orphaned wildlife. Licensed by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, and if caring for federally protected species, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, a wildlife rehabilitator’s ultimate goal is to take an injured or orphaned animal, get it healthy and return it to its natural habitat.
