Theater group wins state championship

Art Center Theatre took its fall show, ‘The Lion in Winter,’ to Columbus, Ga., last weekend to compete at the Georgia Theatre Conference. They were awarded Best Show in the Community Theatre One-Act Play Division and will represent the Colquitt County Arts Center and the state of Georgia at the Southeastern Theatre Conference in Lexington, Ky., in March. Cast members, from the left, are Wesley Pope as Richard the Lion Heart; Mary Norman as Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine; Larry Sims as King Henry of England; Leah Lane as Alais; Josh Briones as Geoffrey; and Beau Garner as King Philip of France.
