Art Center Theatre took its fall show, ‘The Lion in Winter,’ to Columbus, Ga., last weekend to compete at the Georgia Theatre Conference. They were awarded Best Show in the Community Theatre One-Act Play Division and will represent the Colquitt County Arts Center and the state of Georgia at the Southeastern Theatre Conference in Lexington, Ky., in March. VIDEO: 'Ring of fire' solar eclipse
The solar eclipse that took place Sunday evening was an annular eclipse, one in which the moon blocks almost all of the sun. Some of the best viewing was in Asia, as with this video filmed in Japan.

Second place intermediate
The Colquitt County Youth Shooting Club competed recently at the South River Gun Club in Covington and brought back several awards.The team will play host to Georgia Junior Olympics competition on May 25-27 at its shooting range in Hartsfield. The Scholastic Clay Target Program second place intermediate division and second place AIM Intermediate division team includes, from left, Ryne Barfield, Woody Harris, Coach Mike Simpson, Isaac Hall, Ty Cochran and Zack Hall.
