Foreign Mission involvement is exploding at Heritage Church with almost 130 people participating on overseas mission teams in 2012. Plans are being set for multiple teams to serve again in Honduras, Uganda, Bethlehem, and Jamaica. In an effort to offset the cost of these missions, Heritage Missions Teams will be having a huge yard sale on Oct. 5 and 6, beginning at 7 a.m. This massive yard sale will take place at the warehouse building across from Heritage Church on Pavo Road. All proceeds will go directly toward foreign missions. Bethlehem Student Araz looks forward to the annual Vacation Bible School.

Moultrie Police Department chaplain the Rev. Steve Scarrow, left, and MPD Cpl. Dave Underwood speak to about three dozen people gathered Thursday for the law enforcement officers memorial event held on the Courthouse Square. Underwood is indicating the five names on Colquitt County's fallen officers monument, Doerun Police Officer Lawrence O'Neal, shot to death in 1959; Moultrie Police Officer Roy James, shot to death in 1960; Georgia Department of Revenue Agent Daniel Hancock, who died in a vehicle wreck during a pursuit in 1962; MPD Lt. Tommy Meredith, shot to death in 1973; and Colquitt County Sheriff's Deputy Tony Wilder, shot to death in 1986.
