MOULTRIE —
A motorcycle accident on Sumner Road was among two investigated recently in Colquitt County by the Georgia State Patrol.
The agency said that Mary Braswell, 60, of Moultrie, lost control of a 2005 Harley Davidson at about 4:40 p.m. Sunday on Sumner Road about 0.1 mile north of Earnest Norman Road.
Braswell was taking a curve at the time of the accident and after leaving the roadway on the west side of the highway struck a ditch.
On March 7, Dennis Hornsby, 49, of Berlin, was injured when he left the roadway at about 2:45 p.m. at the intersection of Chapman Road and Wesley Chapel Road, patrol reports said. The 2003 Toyota Camry struck a sign and a concrete culvert at a creek.
The car began rotating and flipped over onto its roof before coming to rest in a ditch.
Both were treated at Colquitt Regional Medical Center and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.

1921 murder brings Texas woman to Pavo
Many law enforcement agencies honor their fallen comrades on or about May 15, proclaimed since 1962 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day. But more than two weeks earlier, a Pavo native who died on duty in Memphis, Tenn., received recognition from an unlikely source: the family of the man who killed him.

Video project focuses on the homefront
“Where were you on Sept. 11, 2001?” is a phrase that brings an immediate reaction in people and they can tell you right where they were. But before that, another phrase brought a similar reaction — “Where were you on Dec. 7, 1941?” — the day the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor.
