Wrestlers win two at Pelham
MOULTRIE — The Colquitt County wrestling team defeated Cairo and Pelham on Tuesday in Pelham.
The Packers defeated Cairo 45-26. Colquitt received pins from Matthew Deal, at 119; Anderson Glenn, at 125; Marquavious Clark, at 145; Antonio Slaughter, at 160; and Travis Register, at 189.
The Packers also got a decision from Ronnie Caldwell at 152 and got points on forfeits at 112 and 171.
The Packers won over Pelham, 57-24.
Getting pins for the Packers were Clark, Register and John Boatwright, who wrestled at 140.
Anderson Glenn won by decision at 125.
The Packers also got points by forfeits at 112, 119, 152, 160, 215 and 285.
The victories raised Colquitt County’s record to 7-2.
The victories over Cairo on Pelham come on the heels of a second-place finish in the Hornet Classic held on Saturday in Adel.
Colquitt County will return to the mats on Jan. 1-2, when it competes in the Wildcat Invitational in Valdosta.
The Packers will be back at home in the Pineland gymnasium on Tuesday, Jan. 5, against Cook and Pelham.

Rustlers win World Series tournament in Valdosta
MOULTRIE — The Colquitt County Rustlers won the Elite Tournament Baseball Silver Division World Series, which was held July 23-24 in Valdosta.

Pine Grove Baptist Church won the Moultrie-Colquitt County Parks and Recreation Department’s Ladies Church League championship with a record of 8-1.
